| Maybe you should check for a cleft palate (they can't nurse well with it). I'd put the pup in one hand, angle the head toward the floor and firmly but gently rub the pup. Has the vet listened to its lungs? There may be excess fluid in the lungs. It could be a number of things, that is why I wondered what the vet had to say. If the pup hasn't been seen, I'd be sure to get it to the vet. I don't want to scare you, but these first days are very crucial to the survival of the puppy. Again, I pray that it will survive and thrive and live a very long healthy happy life. In addition, you will need to keep a close eye on your Mamma dog in regard to mastitis being that a lot of her milk isn't being used. Her belly will need wiped down with a warm washcloth and you may have to express some milk yourself if you notice her teats getting hard or too swollen. |

| My vet checked the puppy and said that everything is ok and she (it's a girl) just needs to get stronger. She was not breeding for a long time after he got her out. She had strong heart beat so I was rubbing her for a long time. It was amazing when she started crying and moving her little feet after at least an hour. I am doing whatever I can to help.
