We Have Our First Baby!!!! Samantha just have her first baby a few minutes ago, scared the hec out of us with that SCREAM, always a drama queen! She seems to do all of it by herself, so we are just leavng her alone, we are just telling her how good she's doing her job and all, stroking her back. Now we see her first baby moving.... gosh, we feel so helpless as our little girl seems to know what she's doing and wouldn't let us interfere here. I'd say let the mother nature work! We rae just here to assist. Two more to go!!!! guess we can go out to a valentines dnner then.... NOT! We don't want to leave them out of our sight. Ruth is nervous and I keep telling her not to feel that way as Samantha may feel her stress. I try to be calm but am nervour wrec deep within too. It looks like we have a boy!!!! Oh, what an experience!!!! think the 2nd one os ready to come out.... goodness, am seatng like I never sweat before!!! I had Ruth video tape it so she has something to do and not think about the stress.... This is awesome!!!! Happy valentines indeed.

yes, yes, definitely will post photos after all three are out. Only the first one is out so far, a 4.55 oz liittle boy and is seem to be doing fine, both of them. He is feeding himself right now and Samantha seems to be somewhat like a doting mom. Hopefully all three will be out before the vet clinic closes so we can have them checked right away. Right now, we are just trying to figure out how to mark this one, we're afraid to tie anything on his neck as Samantha seems to be licking him all the time. This little pup seems to go all over the place...

baby boy, then girl, then a boy again!!! wuptidoo!!!!! we have all our babies out, I mean, that is if the xray is 100% correct all the time. The first one is a 4.55 oz boy born at 2:45p, baby girl 5.75 oz born at 3:47p and a 5.45 oz baby boy at 4:01p. We just called our vet and asked if we should bring them in, they said we didn't have to as long as the babies are nursing, and they are. Samantha is resting right now, I would too, goodness, with all that work she did on her own! The oldest boy is too whiny!!! it's so cute..... our problem now is docking the tails... more reading to do, I guess. The moment we get a good shot at them, we'll post the photos. Right now, we just want to give the mom and the babies R&R and their time to bond.... At first, Samantha had us worried as she didn't want to go to the welphing box we built for her, We put all the toys in there but she would take her favorite one and climb back to our bed. We didn't force her as we didn't want to add any stress on her, we figured she knows what it was for and she'll go there when she's ready. Sure enough, about 15 minutes before she had her first one, she went there, made herself comfy, then an ear splitting scream, and the first one came out. Gosh, that scream made me almost want to faint as I thought she won't make it, but I have to keep my cool as I didn't want to scare Ruth, who at the time was already a nervous wreck. I am just looking at them right now, and Samantha just seems to know what she's doing, stroking each and everyone of them. By the way, I also asked the vet about how Samantha ate all that came out of her, and if we should be alarmed or not, she said we don't have anything to worry about it as it s part of nature. I asked my elders before all these came along, and they unanimously said that dogs know what they are doing and that we should just let them be. It does not hurt to arm ourselves with knowledge and all, I'd rather face all these prepared and I guess part of me was calm because of what I learned here and of course tons of prayers. We were expecting it to be bloody and goury (sp?) but I guess Samantha did a good job in cleaning up after herself. We tried to tape it as it was happening, but I guess we took a good shot on the second one as the angle was just right.

The oldest boy & tiniest will go to my sister in Texas, and she's driving here in May to pick him up, while our youngest boy will go to my mom, whom she's taking back home to the Philippines. Yes, we are keeping the girl. We initially bought Samantha as a gift to our mom to bring back home, however, she took her sweet time in picking Samantha up, and we were so already so fond of her, Ruth did not want to give her up anymore. So, hopefully we will not get too attached to them and we'll be able to give them up.

My sis wants to call her little boy Valentino as they were born today, as for our girl, Sammie comes to mind, but not definite yet. We are waiting for our daughter to give us the name. My mom hasn't told me what to name the other boy yet, I was just talking to her over the phone. Samantha doesn't seem like she wants to leave her baby just for a moment. We were feeding him on the whelping box. The babies are eating like there is no tomorrow. I do hope that they are gettng milk from Samantha.
