rehoming pet Macaw, looking to trade Hi, I'm about to rehome my 2 year old Male Blue and Gold Macaw and I had an idea that I would ask my fellow YTers, if anyone was interested in a trade for a female yorkie. First a little about my "Scotty". Scotty is a tame, wonderful friend. I can hold him in my arms like a baby and touch him anywhere. He loves to be rubbed under his wings. I carry him upside down by his feet. He says many phrases, I love Scotty, I love you, What? Stop it, Good Bird, Hello, Hello Gracie. He's molting right now and his feathers are coming back in. He lays on the floor and plays with me, he's much like a puppy. He's literally never been sick a day of his life. So, why am I rehoming him? I've been planning on it for about 6 months now, I've simply not been giving him the kind of attention he deserves. I''ve sold out to yorkies and it wouldn?t be fair to him to keep him secluded getting less and less attention. If anyone is interested or knows someone who might be please pm me if you. When I sell him it is going to be for around $1200 so a breeding female (within AKC standards and AKC reg) comparable to price would be expected. I'm not quite sure where to post it at, I'm sure admin will take liberty to move where it needs to be. Here are a couple pics Last edited by Susan123; 02-02-2007 at 06:06 PM.

Thank you, I'm nervous about it that's why I've waited. I started with small ones too and fell in love with the B&G. Sounds like your daughter is own her way.

Macaw's are absolutely beautiful. I have a very good friend who has a male, named Black Beard. He's stunning. His beak is the strongest thing I've ever seen. They have trained him well and he is just awesome. He actually lives with toy dogs..and frequently "jumps" into pics they take of their dogs. They also have other "smaller" parrots. Their home is truly an animal's paradise. If you would pm me your email, I'd be happy to put you in contact with them, they are breeders as well. Best wishes,

I sure will. I'd so much rather find Scotty a forever home through YT rather than an ad. This way, at least there's one reference already, or I may already know them. Dawn, what a great present! It really sounds like your daughters a natural. We have a local bird club that does outreaches. It's so awesome to see the youth get involved in educating and rescuing.

I had a Blue and Gold growing up...His name was Clarence. I'd love to have another but i'm all the way in Montana. I also won't have more puppies born til March . If he is still around then, we may have to talk. He's beautiful. Kristie

| He is beautiful and I always wanted one..and I live in Florida and I even have a female yorkie that is for sale, but with three yorkies of my own and the fact that I work, I wouldn't have the time for him either. SORRY! But, I'm so positive you will not have a problem finding him a great home! Good Luck!

Thanks, I may post it over there too. I'm soooo going to have a hard time when I go to the theme park that has a couple of them once he is rehomed. You're a smart woman troubletb!
