I know that at times those of us that are so passionate about this breed tend to get a little heated under the collar when reading some posts. So, I do understand what you were feeling at the time. Believe me I have a temper, especially when it comes to the yorkshire terrier. But, over the years have learned to manage it and walk away before I answer or write anything.....I know that I can be very blunt and hurt feelings if I don't and my goal is not to alienate but, to educate.

| Oh Lord, I meant to say, I did NOT take any offense lol From what I've observed, people are much more likely to listen to what we have to say when there is educating as opposed to bashing and coming down on others. Me too Mardelin, I can be very quick, so I also taste my words carefully before I type and in person. It takes alot of practice. |

| I thought or at least the "nieve" person that I am...thought that everyone was breeding to get a Yorkie that looks like all the Yorkie pictures do......the standard... When the time comes, if it EVER does.....my goal, as well as most serious show people will breed to improve the line......they will neuter pups with imappropriate faults, and sell as wonderful pets..... Not to say that a "non-show" Yorkie lover couldnt breed too......that is up to you all....but, i still think that even the "pet" breeder wants their Yorkies to look just like you see pics of in magazines and tv. I guess my biggest worry is.....if we continue to breed and accept this "look" in Yorkies...then eventually, the Yorkie that will be in 50 years, will NOT be the Yorkie of today.... -----and that will be a sad day-------- |

| dude, off the soapbox please, I was asking breeders their opinions. Because as more experience breeders that are on YT other than I (not as experienced) I'm sure they've delt with faults. If you want a mission statesment, I refer you to post 18, however, I have nothing to prove. I wanted to ask what other breeders would do and got some very good answers. Thanks for tuning in, but conversation over. |

I hear what your saying, it is by no means a soap box......I, like you learn from experienced people on here and personally from other Show breeders.....I just speak what I learn......same as you.....whether right or wrong you have to make the decision yourself what works for you and your program.......same as the rest....sorry, if you felt offended, it was by no means meant to be that way....I actually appreciated your question....as most of us wonder what the experienced breeders do too.... Best of luck to you too.... | |
