It was a long day !!!
 

First off, let me warn you....this is going to be long.......

Second of all.....let me say thanks to each and everyone of you for posting here today and sending your prayers. I'm really becoming a real believer in prayer since I've joined YT !!!

Thirdly I'd like to apologise for forgetting to tell everyone I was leaving. I kinda got scared and just left and forgot to post what I was doing.

Here is what happened today:

I called the Vet back and ask if I could just come in to be safe. They said fine, they would start with an Xray and go from there.

Got there, they did the xray...made me wait.....then called me into the room. Well the baby was still positioned fine, head first but not in the birth canal. And he was VERY concerned about the baby's size. He said he couldn't be 100%, but the head looks very big and he's not sure if she could pass it. He said we have two choices at this point.

1) We could do an Oxy shot and see if she's able to push it out on her own. 2 shots max. BUT since she's been laboring since 11am, he thought it was pushing it and was concerned about mom and the baby at this point. He thought we may be out of time. -OR-

2) We could go ahead and do the c section, before its too late and not take the chance of it being to late for a natural birth. Although he wanted me to know that the mom's well being comes first and I need to understand that when he performs the c section.

So I thought it thru and with it being only one pup, one monster pup....I didn't want to risk losing Meiah. I told him go ahead with the c section. BUT i am waiting here in the waiting room and not leaving. (I left when Zoey had her c section) He said that was fine. But didn't know how long it would be. I didn't care and I stayed.

So I'm out there thinking....this is it. I AM DONE !!! My dreams and plan of my breeding career are DONE ! I was being pretty hard on myself. Its VERY hard to be excited about a new life coming into the world, when your worried about another life.

So I sat out there waiting and waiting....I think an hour had went by...I don't know...but it was LONG ! At one point a very nice lady came out and said "oh don't worry, she's doing fine!" So that made me feel good. So I felt better and waited. Thinking my poor baby...she's going to be sore and planning on my care for her.

THEN ! (this is the good news :))

One of the girls came out and said "oh Dr Meadows wanted me to tell you that while they were prepping her for the c section they saw the sak crowning so they gave her 2 oxy shots and she delivered it all by herself !!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

NO C SECTION !!!!! :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

So all this time out there sitting BY MYSELF (my husband was at work all day) worrying about her surgery and she popped the bigger out on her own !!!! I was so happy and so proud !!!!!

Then I was like....oh I can't wait until my next litter !!! LOL! See how long that lasted of putting my dream to rest?!!!

So finally he came out and told me the story. Meiah didn't cut the cord, he had to, but she did clean the pup off. YAY! She delivered the ONE puppy !!!

So finally...(I think I got home around 7pm???) I get home with Meiah and her pup and put her in her area I had set up for her in the hall bathroom cuz its the warmest place in the house. As soon as I set her out of the basket she tried to pee on the pee pad and she pasted her placenta. I let her eat it. So I had to clean that all up.

I got her settled with the baby cuz she hadn't latched on yet...I got her on and walked out and instantly Meiah was barking and jumped out of the whelping bed. She didn't want in there at all. So I decided to let her go where she wants, and its the room she was in labor in, with Zoey and Tia. Soooo, I had to set up the play pen (a skin childs play pen) and put her in there with a bed and heating pad and she's been fine ever since. She doesn't mind Zoey and Tia at all. Of course I let them take a look but thats it. Meiah just doesn't want to be alone and now she's being a good mom. It was ify when I had her in the bathroom....I didn't think she was going to be a good mom.

So I think that covers it all !!!!! :thumbup: :animal-pa :thumbup:

And the baby is a girl??!! I was right!! LOL Now I can sleep peacefully tonight!

yayay OMG we have been so worried thanks for the update!! What a trooper yaya mom did a great job pushing out the baby!

OMG!! I just read the whole post!! YAY!! Congrats on the pup!! I am soooo happy that she delivered the pup without a c-section. I am soooo happy for you!! You are such a good mommy!! I am so glad you took her to the vet.

I am so relieved! Absolutely the most wonderful news! You've had a very stressful day, I hope you can get some rest. I think the rest of us can now too. LOL

Dang it !!!! I tried so HARD not to say the sex of the pup in my thread !!! Did I say a girl???? I don't think I did??? It could be a boy???

Oh I have pics too...but I bet no one would wanna look see?

Oh yes we need a pic of the little girl we have been stressing about lol! When you have the time of course

ITS A GIRL !

OOOHHHHHHHHH what a doll she is adorable!!!!!!

She was 4 1/2 ounces when I got her home. They didn't weigh her there. Thats not too big is it?
