My vet just called (well one of the girls) and I let them know the status, and ask them to tell the Dr. They are there all day today.

How long can it take for the water sak?

there isnt a usual, all girls and whelps are different! Ive had them break and not see a pup for 8 hours but others have broke and present a pup minutes after....

good news is she is calm...if you see her in hard labor (pushing constant) more than an hour without presenting a pup get her to your vet.

Shes nesting, pulling the blankets with her teeth, growling at them...

Can you describe hard labor? Will I know it if I see it ?

Hard labor.
Very deep contractions. Causing an indention near the hips when its very serious most times. They come closer together too. They should be coming soon.

kandy would raise up and throw her head back straining and kind of bare her teeth.

We are not there yet. She is just having small pushes with each contraction. NO water sak yet,and she's sleeping again.

some will rear up, some will cry a little, some will stare at the rear end and some will just push em out like nothing happened...

hard labor is heavy panting each contraction just seconds to minutes apart. Also you can tell looking at the belly it gets very tight on each contraction.

the last contractions were 5 minutes apart, giveing a few small pushes with each one
