| if it's the bottom row of teeth, it's called an underbite - or some will refer to it as being undershot. Oscar has this - it's not a big deal at all. Dogs that are under or over shot can't be shown and as far as pets, it's purely cosmetic. They can still eat, chew, etc. as normal. You can't even tell Oscar is undershot.

| In addition, I would not breed one that had an underbite, just so not to pass along a cosmetic flaw like that. Just my opinion, though. |

| My boxer has an underbite. He has no problems with it, as Oscar's Mummy said it's purely cosmetic. Actually I think it's cute on my boxer

| Kudos to you for getting your baby altered! As stated above, don't worry a bit about the underbite. Simply cosmetic. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | MY cocker Spaniel Tessa has a pretty bad underbite...her bottom teeth are set too far behind the top teeth....Cockers are the CUTEST puppies... but she had a very hard time picking up food as a baby & I hand fed her. She can now eat it off a plate - but not a dish. The reason ? she is plain spoiled lol - Some of the dogs I've seen who's bottom teeth are too far forward get kind of a little bulldog look to them - it's cute but there's a big difference in the 2 bites. |
