newcomer to the breeding process I would love to breed my dog and give birth to her puppies one day but i really need to understand how to do everything. i know the vet can charge quite a bit to give birth to the puppies herself, so i was wondering is it really that tought to do it myself? Are there any good books or perhaps any dvds you would reccommend? I would love to see anything with pictures because thats what i feel will hel,p me the most! Thanks!

Breeding can be quite difficult and you might end up at the vet no matter what...so you have to be prepared for a HUGE vet bill if you do decide to breed. What are your reasons for breeding? You could also lose your mother dog during the process..one of our members just lost her momma dogs a few days ago...its so sad...and alot of work to take care of the pups by yourself if that were to happen. Im sure breeders here can give you more advice as I am not a breeder myself... Dawn

thanks for all your help? How did many of you breeders get started, where did you go for information, did you observe a litter being born from another dog first? I would also like to breed not for profit but for the amazing joy of the breed! I would love to give birth to healthy little puppies and raise them even if i were to lose some money on it!
