| I have been waiting for our little female, Mercedes, since before we had Ben. She will be ready to come home December 12th. I have been worrying over this myself. We don't have any little ones at home anymore but Christmas still is a different, busier time. I will make sure to have all the shopping and hopefully the wrapping done before she comes home but it will take some effort to try to make her arrival calm and reassuring for her. I will keep her play pen in my bedroom when company comes -- she won't be a pass around playtoy. I guess I am just typing all the things I have been thinking about to make sure her transition is as easy on her as possible. I got to see her again this past Thursday -- she is beautiful! Eating dry puppy food well already. Why did I not take my camera??? Will next trip for sure.

| All the posts just go to show that every placement should be on a case by case basis. Without children in the home Christmas can be a very relaxing time of the year. I find I have much more time to enjoy life and celebrate by baking a little more, listening to Christmas music and going to see Christmas lights. Sounds kind of boring, but after years of spending the majority of the time in stores trying to find the toy that every child wanted (and no one had - this year I think it is Elmo!) holidays would be a great time to bring a puppy (if I was in the market) into my home. |
