| hello i am new at this i have a female she is about 7lbs and in heat bleeding all over the place.My male is 8mnths and 2lbs he is chasing her all over the place humping her,but nothing has happened i think he is to small.Please could you give me some advise this is all new to me? | I believe the age that AKC requires them to be before studding is 7 or 8 months, so evidently they're capable. I also read on another thread to not watch. If you have scolded him in the past for humping her, then he might be shy about it. That breeder says she watches from around the corner, then goes in to help once they have started. Also if the femasle has snapped at him a few times in the past, he might be afraid of her. Or he might just be immature. Ollie is in her first heat right now, and Chachi is only 8 months, I have them separated so I'm not sure what he would do, but he acts very interested at times but not at others. Last night they were both sleeping on my lap. |

| thank you ,but do you think he might be to short he tries but it seems like he can't reach?this is her 2nd or 3rd heat. |
