| fleas on baby!!!!!!! At what age can you safely put flea medicine on the pups? I put it on Ceeby at nine weeks. it was the kind for puppies under twelve weeks. let Silk out in the yard and now she has fleas and I saw the baby digging this morning and flea combed it and got a couple of fleas off her. I am afraid to treat Silk because of nursing. I put it on her at the vets suggestion when the puppies were in the forming stage and as you know, I had a deformed puppy that died and Silk had problems. |

| Yes, definately DO NOT put it on Silk! The pups can suck the med through the skin when nursing. My suggestion, which is what we have done before and worked. You have another adult other than Silk, right? Put the flea med...Avantix or Frontline on that dog...even if they don't have fleas. Any time we've ever found fleas on one of the dogs, if we treat just one of them w/ Frontline, it does the trick for all of them. Fleas don't stay on one pet, they travel from animal to animal. |

| You can wash Silk and her pup with Dawn dishwashing liquid... and change their bedding... this should get the fleas off the dogs.... I usually bathe my females who have pups if they go outside as soon as they come back in.... I never let the moms outside this summer... I thought there were too many bugs outside (due to warmer weather). So the moms used the pee-pads the whole time the pups were with them. Good luck.
