![]() ![]() ![]() When a person that is looking for a part Maltese puppy can go to a rescue center or the pound and get a puppy that is spayed/neutered, current on all shots, and save some little soul's life to boot, and pay anywhere from $25.00 - $150.00, I would say they are going to go there for their baby! They can provide a baby cheaper than you can....you will have more invested (HOPEFULLY!) in each of those babies than you will EVER be able to get back, just in well baby checks and your vaccinations.....dew claw removal is about $100.00/dog....this is just the very BASICS....if you have any problems with the whelp, like needing a c-section, that can run you anywhere from $800.00 from your own vet for a daytime emergent delivery....start at $1800.00 minimum at an ER clinic in the middle of the night. To answer your question, you will probably be able to get $150.00 to $300.00 for your babies. As you can see, you wont even BEGIN to make your money back, even if everything goes well! Welcome to the fabulous world of "get rich quick breeding"!............. NOT!!!! Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 05-14-2012 at 04:55 PM.

| ![]() In my experiences of research and just general browsing... Maltese/Yorkies mixes are quite popular.. "Morkies". The "designer" puppy fad, or call it what you may... is ever-growing. As far as ive seen is that some of the mixes are being recognized as actual breeds????? Its strange watching these things develop. Not to say that the original poster about how much she should charge is a breeder, becuase clearly, thats not so. But I see them being sold for much more then what you would think they should be. As said above...YORKIETALK is probably not the best place to ask.. I, myself think i must have a VERY REASONABLE VET in regards to prices for dews. They charge a larger amount for the first pup.. but just a smaller additional for each pup there after. I paid about $100 for all four to have dews and tails docked. Prices may differ... but whatever the case.. DEFINATELY ( regardless of what you are charging of pups) do the right thing and make sure to have all the necessary vet visits. Just keep the pups(and mothers) safety and well-being in mind at all times. I would agree that maybe $300 a pup would be acceptable. Sorry i jumped around alot. I, for some reason, have alot of thoughts on this. I could continue to go on and on.. but wont. goodluck

And no there is no such thing as hybrid vigour in mixes. They can carry or exhibit any of the genetic or congenital birth defects any purebred carries that has produced them.

| ![]() One thing that is probably not considered when purchasing a "designer dog" is what kind of health problems are you getting your self into. That is definately something that I have in the back of my mind since my baby is fighting for her life, as we speak.
