Wonderful news to hear the surgery is over and that she is coming along real well. With all the TLC that she will be getting from you all at home, and the many here at YT praying for her, I know she will be healed and well real soon. She is so lucky to have you. Please keep us updated, thanks.

Just thought I would let you know that it has been one week since sophies surgery. I took her to the doctors for a check up and said she is doing good. They are going to keep her on pain meds and antiboitic for 1 more week. (She had blood in her urine on Friday) The doctor thinks it is from stress. So the doctor thought it would help her recover if she continued on them. She is starting to play again and it is getting hard to keep her quite. But we love to snuggle and so does she so we are getting a lot of time together, just not getting much done around the house. Spring cleaning will probably become fall cleaning.

Thanks again to everyone who has been here for sophie and me.

Glad to hear sophie is doing well. I am glad the breeder is taking SOME responsiblity here, even if not fully refunding the total price of Sophie. You will be responsible for the spay, that is part of an owners costs to incur, unless you buy an already spayed dog. I think you are doing the right thing by not taking another puppy, if Sophie had Leggs Perthes, whats to say the next puppy wont also.

The breeder has been very good to us and I really do not have any complaints except when she changed her story. I think that everything happened so fast that they just needed to think about what is right. We did not feel right about getting another puppy from them even though they said they had never seen this before. They paid for a biopsy of the bone and it did come back that it was legg perthes. They now have to spay both there male and female because they were hoping that the biopsy could tell if it came from the male or female and it did not say anything about that. The vet is very persistant in making sure that this is taken care by all parties.
