| My neutered male keeps getting tied with girl Hey guys! I have an unusual situation. My boy Scout, who is neutered, keeps tying with Pippa who is in heat. She is supposed to get spayed in a few weeks...we scheduled it to coincide with her 6 month dental, and of course she went into heat!! Scout tied with her yesterday, then again today...which lasted 20 minutes. I just tried to keep Pippa still and quiet so she didn't hurt him, and called my vet. He said it was very unusual for a neutered male, but not unheard of. He said there was no way she could get pregnant because he was neutered in December. Do any of you have any ideas of how to prevent him to keep tying? Probably a losing battle, short of keeping them apart till she goes out of heat? Geez...I thought this wouldn't happen with my boy...

| Well thats rather unusual. My advice would be to keep him a an enclosed area tillher heat is over. Or have her in a separate area. |

| I guess it's really not to unusal because my male was net. at 6 mon. also. He's now about 1 1/2 yrs. When my Annie came in he got her also. Only way is to keep them apart cause he will keep getting your female..

| If you don't want to separate them try belly band for the boy and/or panties for the girl.

| I'm trying to find girl bloomers somewhere-I didn't have much luck today at Petsmart and Petco-all too big. I am thinking about buying some huggies baby diapers first thing tomorrow and cutting a hole just big enough for her tail. Anyone have any experiences with this? We had another romantic day at our house...I tell Scout to "leave it" whenever he seems to be wanting to get fresh, but he did manage to tie up again once today. What a little turkey!

| I bought a 6 pack of newborn size onsies and made sure either my male or female (or both) were wearing one at all times. My male isn't neutered yet so I kept them seperate but kept them clothed just in case.

Oooh, I didn't think of that. I did get some onesies. I think that's gonna help (thanks for the suggestion, Dawn). This isn't supposed to happen!!!! Pippa is rescheduled for her spay and dental in 3 weeks...it can't come soon enough!

| lol, the same exact thing happened with my neutered male and female just prior to her being spayed. My female was a little floozy! She would stick her tail up and back right into him. My husband and I would joke that he didn't know what to do, but then I heard him crying and walked in the mud room and there they were! I callee the vet and he said Bentley could still get excited even though he was neutered but of course she couldn't get pregnant. After that little indiscretion I kept him in a belly band and her in her little bloomers. |
