I also think EVERYONE has a RIGHT to post their experiences with a breeder, groomer, vet, etc.. Just because they did not have the same experience as you did Ladyhawk it does NOT mean they cannot share their experience as well! But I personally would think twice about purchasing a puppy from a dog who has thrown at least two cases of Legg Perthes, especially since the breeder could not even email one of the new owners back to say she was sorry! Let alone offer to make it right! |

bitch I received an email today from a new breeder who bought a "foundation" bitch from Jenda Yorkies. She was told the bitch was for breeding and asked for a girl in the 5 to 7 pound range. She spent $1500 plus shipping costs and now a year later has a bitch who weighs 12 pounds and is not breed quality. |
WOW! When I came onto the page the first word I saw was "BITCH" and I thought , YEP! sums her up alright! Thank God she is getting out of the business! Too Little Too Late for alot of innocent trustworthy people who have purchased yorkies from her under "FALSE PRETENSES"!! Sorry to hear of your friends hishap... |
She still breeds Chinese Cresteds I think. I thought she just got rid of some of her yorkies and is keeping some of them. More of a downsize I think but I could be wrong. How old was the puppy when she bought her? |

puppy The puppy was 12 weeks...as a knowledgable person of the breed, I know that is not the age to purchase breeding/show dogs..BUT when an ethical breeder is contacted for a certain type puppy, it is their responsiblity to the best of their ability to offer a pup of this description or tell the person they do not have a suitable puppy for them. Do not turn a sow into a silk purse for the almighty dollar... So many people have trusted me over the years for help selecting a companion, breeding/show pup...I can be ethical or I can rip them off... When it is all said and done, all I have is my word and reputation... BUT..let me tell you something (you know I am angry about this)...if I happened on to YT and read this post about ME..I would contact the unhappy buyers and return every last cent of their money, even if it meant taking a bank loan...AND if I happened to run into this woman with the 12 pound "breed" quality bitch and this person was pleased as punch with her girl and planned to breed her..I would do all I could to fix it, replace the bitch with a more suitable one, whatever it took to correct the situation... What is wrong with people...lie, cheat, steal, but get the money at all costs..you are not in Yorkies for the love of the breed, but the love of the greenback...I doubt they even realize greed as an odor that reeks from their pores... |
At 12 weeks I guess she was counting on the weight and the quality of the parents to judge whether it is breed quality or not. I evaluate at 8 weeks and make an educated guess, sometimes it's right, sometimes it's not so right. It's risky when selling pups to breed or show, alot safer to sell pets. I try to keep my customers happy, it's not always an easy job. The yorkie world show and pet is tough on people and there is someone out to take you at every turn. This is what makes being a breeder so difficult. The dogs are a dream it's the people that make it tricky. |
pup Breeders are not God...we make big mistakes, but we have the choice to TRY and fix our mistakes, at our own expense or say..OOPS at the buyers expense. I realize, what is breed quality to one, may not be to another, but 12 pounds is a no brainer..she is not overweight..she is 12 pounds on a 12 pound frame...I have seen her. |
Pat, Did they try and contact Jen to tell them what the situation was and if so, did they get a reply from them? I know when I was contacting Jen to purchase my dogs, I got a reply almost immdeiately every time. When I contacted them to tell them Trace was limping and the doctor said his knees were very bad and he suspected Legg Perthes also, it was a couple weeks and it took 2 seperate emails for them to respond. The response was I will tell mom and give him extra treats. When I emailed them to tell them he did in fact have Legg Perthes and would need surgery I never heard from them again. I didnt bother even trying again after that. |
pup I have told her to talk to her about her disappointment...I am sorry about her (Jendas)health problems and it does not come at a good time.. |

Yorkie I do not believe anyone has to defend their stock...Most breeders have a combination of many lines bred into theirs.. No two dogs are alike..why I posted was regarding purchasing a foundation bitch that was not what the buyer wanted..she is contacting the breeder again to discuss the problem. |
