Don't judge a book by it's cover. Piper has excellent composition though he is not fine boned. He is the grandsire of my Connor and Connor is gorgeous and proving it on the circuit. I own a grandneice of his as well who has a topline and tailset to die for. Piper comes out of Exmoor's Peter Piper go Romine who was sired by Rothby's Renegade, so the genes can't be beat!

I received the pup on 04/13/07 and took a pic of it. YOU BE THE JUDGE AND TELL ME IF YOU THINK I WAS SENT THE PUP I PAID $2225.00 FOR........................

THANKS.BOBBI

Who was your puppy suppose to be out of? Is it male or female?

CO_yorkie_momma 04-23-2007 06:00 PM

He is the grandsire of Trace also

cutiepieyorkies 04-23-2007 06:01 PM

you are right about not judging a book by it's cover

mojo 04-23-2007 06:05 PM

I dont think it is the same dog. Ears look different to me. Also something about the nose/eyes.

Ladyhawk 04-23-2007 06:12 PM

He reminds me alot of Connor when he was a pup. Is it the pup out of Parker & Jonesy or out or Riley & Natalie? If it's out of Parker & Jonesy than it's Connor's full brother or sister. I'd love to have the pup out or Riley and Natalie since Cricket didn't get large enough to breed.

So if I understand right your Trace has Legg Perthes and so did Lady Hawks/Tami's Cricket? They both are grandchildren out of Pied Piper and came from Jenda's Yorkies?

I believe Bobbi said her pup is out Jonesy.. I also think $2,250.00 for the pup that arrived to Bobbi was WAY OVER PRICED! I also hate to say it, but I always judge a book by it's cover.. If I personally do not see the quality that I like, I would not be interested in purchasing an off spring out of that particular dog or a grandpup out of him either.. But that is me......

Yorkiesforever 04-23-2007 06:26 PM

Conner is very stunning...............As for BZbobbi No they look like diffrent puppies top me to....

I've never seen a different picture of Piper so it may be the picture. Isn't it odd that Tremar and Fondarosa used the same pic. I can't argue about Piper's quality, having never seen him in person. Connor got his quality from somewhere.

Your info is correct. We don't know if the Legge-Perthes is genetic or not but if it were I would guess that it comes through Piper's dam who is out of Virdels. I base this guess on the fact that I rather doubt that it came through Rothby's Renegade. He's sired so many champions that if it ran through his line it would be showing up everywhere. It could also be from assisting a posterior presentation at birth. I have yet to discuss this with Mary Lou so I don't know if Cricket was assisted at birth or not.

shyorkies 04-23-2007 06:37 PM

I personally would not purchase from Termar or Fondarosa.. I believe if someone is going to breed for a litter of pups, they need to try to improve with each litter and I do not see either of them achieving that goal.. Plus I have not heard alot of encouraging comments concerning either one.. JMO..

May I ask how old Trace and Cricket were when they were diagnosed with Legge-Perthes? If your pups were guarnateed why were they not replaced, money refunded to help with the surgery, etc.?

I don't know how old Trace was but Cricket was 7 monthes old when she was diagnosed. I have been promise a replacement pup since she was purchased as a show/ broodbitch. We are waiting for a female out of the Durrer lines to come into heat for the replacement pup. Because of the genetic question I can't breed Connor to a dog from his line so I have to look outside. There are several that Mary Lou has had that I would take but she was afraid that there might be trouble down the road. Mary Lou and Jen have stayed in touch with me and I have no reason to believe that they will not remain true to their word.

cutiepieyorkies 04-23-2007 07:23 PM

i noticed that jenda's is selling out on her web site and i know fonderosa
aka mar has gone more towards buena vista lines

I hope you receive your replacement pup and I hope the owner of Trace receives her replacement pup.. I hope Bobbi is given a refund.. I just noticed on the front page of Jenda's Yorkies website it states this "Due to personal health issues we are selling all but three of our Yorkies See Puppies page to see what we still have available." I also noticed it on her ads for sale she states a "SELLOUT", so I hope you do receive your replacement pup!

CO_yorkie_momma 04-23-2007 08:33 PM

Yes your info is correct. Trace has been diagnosed with Legg Perthes and luxating patellas in both of his knees. He is a beautiful dog and I am very bummed that I wont be able to use him in my breeding program. I guess I havent been as lucky as Tami in the fact that she has been offered a replacement dog. When I emailed Jen and Mary Lou about Trace's diagnosis, I havent ever gotten so much as a reply from them which doesnt make me too happy since I did buy 2 dogs from them and have stood up for them numerouse times on this forum. I didnt sign a contract with them, I just went on their word that they stand behind their dogs. My mistake. I hope the OP got a signed contract as I stated earlier. I got Trace for a very good price considering he had wonderful bloodlines loaded with Durrer's and I had high hopes for getting some show quality pups out of him one day. I am bummed, but things like this happen and it is always a risk when you are dealing with animals. It could happen to any of us. I am not 100% sure Legg Perthes is genetic. From what I read it is but you never know. If nothing else I have learned a valuable lesson in this even if is was a costly lesson. I will be smarter in the future.

cutiepieyorkies 04-23-2007 08:40 PM

i am sad for you and the others i hope they take care of this it is the only right thing to do and legg is a genetic factor

Barb I am very sorry about Trace and the difficulty you are going through concerning him.. It is very hard when we put our heart and soul into our program and above all else love our dogs unconditionally! I would hope that Jenda Yorkies makes this right for you and especially Trace! I do not believe there was a signed contract on Bobbi's dog either.. But as we all know a contract is only as good as the people signing it.. So I am not sure a signed contract would help you or Bobbi.. I also cannot believe Jenda's Yorkies did not even email you back! I pray everything works out for you and Trace.. I also wanted to add anyone who breeds takes a risk of a genetic defect in the puppies, but a person who is reputable would make the situation right and not run in the other direction! I still see Jenda's Yorkies has puppies for sale and I believe she owes you and Lady Hawk a puppy or a refund! I believe she owes Bobbi a replacement or a refund..

Ladyhawk 04-24-2007 03:32 AM

Okay so maybe I'm dense because it's finals week but I don't see why Bobbi should get a refund or replacement puppy. Does the papers say that the dog is out of Parker and Jonesy. Is the pup of the right age and healthy? The dog holds enough resemblance to Connor that it could be his brother. It has a great ear set and the face is balanced well. The coat is a bit thin but it's puppy coat and often the thinner coats grow into the nicest, thickest silk. What is wrong with this puppy that has her so upset? She paid 250. for shipping and handling so the price of the pup was 2000. That's what she agreed on and what I paid for my show/breeding stock that I have purchased from Mary Lou. Bobbi is brand new and is on her bashing a breeder but other than the fact that the pics aren't identical what is her beef? Pups change every week and look different after they've been groomed, every long time yorkie owner/ breeder knows this. Did Connor look just like he did on the website pic, no. He'd grown and was getting a bit scraggly. Was he still the show potential, healthy pup that I paid for? Yes and I consider him a great blessing. Getting ahold of quality stock when you are just starting out is almost impossible now days. Mary Lou has been very supportive of me with both my showing and breeding and I don't feel she should be judged without getting to have her say. The difficult part about breeding is not the dog end of the biz but the people end. I've been very lucky in my dealings so far but what would I do if I had a customer who wasn't going to be happy no matter what? Especially if they were on the other side of the country? All Mary Lou can do is reassure Bobbi that the dog she received is the one that she advertised and send her the papers. I guess if it can't be resolved she could always take the pup back. It's alot of trauma for the puppy so than who's the victum. I don't know Bobbi but I do know until it's settled she shouldn't be bashing someone on a public forum.

That is not the same picture I have been looking at on Janie's website of Piper. i have studied him from top to bottom and end to endd because he is the sire of one I was supposed to get.

The picture of Piper on Tremar's website is the head shot of the pic on Fondarosa's website, orange bow and all. I'd love to see a different pic of him. If you have one could you please post it?

Thank you. I am not losing sleep over it. What's done is done and Trace will have his surgery and he will be back to being the sweet, happy little guy that I love so much. I am not the type of person to force people to do whats right. Maybe they are going thru hard times right now and can't afford to help out. I dont know what their situation is and I would not ask them to replace Trace or help with his bills. I only emailed them to let them know whats going on just in case they might be interested in what they were producing.

All I know is that I paid $2225.00 for my pup and didnt receive the correct one. Her litter mates are down to $1000.00 now on puppyfind the last time I checked. Maybe miss ladyhawk would like to buy both of them, since she had really good luck with them.

This post makes no sense at all. We have a BREEDER'S REVIEW forum on here just for that. Negative and positive reviews with breeders. if you feel you have had a negativee experuience, why wouldn't you want to warm other possible buyers about the breeder and maybe keep them from getting the wrong pup like you evidently did.
