Should breeder be responsible for cryptorchid?????

I want to make this clear; as other people read this. I am only going by what I have read and by my own experience:
In the tiny yorkies (since their testicles are also super tiny) it seems to take longer to detect the testicles and know if they are properly positioned in the scrotum. My little male was 6-7 months when we found the testicle wasn't properly positioned in the scrotum. My veterinarian tried unsuccessfully to position the testicle (manually). At that time we were 99% sure he was cryptorchid.
With what I have read a litter may be registered to a male 7 months of age thru A.K.C. So I would assume that any time around that age the testicles need to be in position. The male should be starting to be interested in a female (in heat). I used proven females to make to prove that the male was sterile. Also my vet was unable to collect a semen sample or an erection from my yorkie male. Sorry to be so graphic but I'm giving you information from my vet documents.

I went thru something similar over 20 years ago....lady sold me two puppies open papers, only to find a big defect with one of the puppies. In her pitch about the puppies, was that I could breed them, they were both females. (I never did or ever wanted to breed) Anyway, I called her with the info and she said...."I do not give refunds, you bought the puppy". Well, needless to say, after our phone conversation, she was willing to take the puppy back and I stopped payment on the ck." If she would have been upfront with the defect, I may have handled the purchase differently.


Lesson learned on my end, and I will never buy or recommend her as a seller, but she still does very well with her breeding program.....I just dont understand it.

As far as your breeder with this little male, the issue is as much that she is a friend, and with friends we tend to expect them to treat us with the utmost care....I tend to put my friends on a pedestal.

So sorry to hear about your BAD experience. BUT I'm glad to hear you were able to get some satisfaction from the breeder. I only wish my Breeder had cooperated.

The "BREEDER" can't except that she was wrong. Even with judgement from a judge. She has now filed a motion to reconsider/vacate and one of her requests is : The court failed to return the property (MALE) to defendant/her. She wasn't interested in this little guy. She stormed out of court and never mentioned him in court or ask for him back. I can only guess she has decided that she could have resold him, and she missed out on "MONEY". I'm sorry if this sound hateful, but I wanted this little guy to go to a loving "Safe" home at O cost. He has since been neutered, placed, and he is soooooo loved. I also have visitation rights. HA! So I will be back in court and there is no way I am going to allow her to get this little guy.
Once again thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We can all use help and new information. Its sad to say alot of us learn from bad experiences.

I just had my little guy to the vet yesterday, he has one down, the other is not. He said it can take up to 6 months, so not to worry.
