| My boy didn't perform... Yesterday I went to a lady house to have your dogs meet. She asked me about using my little boy as a stud. She has done this before so I was happy about that. But yesterday I went over there the dog's got along really good. But all Dega (that's my boy) did was sniff her and lick her. As that normal. The lady KAren said that she has never seen a dog do that. So there a reason why? Is there something that we can do or is he just to young he is a year old last month.? Any help or advice would be VERY helpful. Thanks Stephanie |

| My Rocky does the sniffing/licking thing during the first week of the female's heat cycle... It could be the female is not at the point where mating would take place. (another few days? week?). I assume though that the owner of the female would know when her female is "ready" if she has done this before. Good luck!!!

| Most stud owners recommend that the female be brought to him. Males do seem to do better in their own surroundings. I have provided stud service both ways but I do prefer my male to stay home. And, of course, if either have bred before, I ask for a neg STD test result.. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Sounds perfectly normal. It could be that the bitch is not ready to accept a male and as my father in law says, males will know before a female when she's ready.
