| is my yorkie pregnant? i have a female yorkie that just recently went into heat. she is about 9 months old. when she was in heat, my family and i tried everything to keep our male away from her for 2 reasons; 1) he is 2 pounds bigger than she is 2) she is simply too young! but one day, the male actually got into mollie's pen for the day. now im worried that she might be pregnant. her nipples are getting big, and her vulva is very enlarged. if anyone has any information on whether she could be pregnant or not, please let me know. i would also like to know more signs that would tell me if she is pregnant. |

Love the way you spell Mollie. I also have a Mollie. Welcome aboard. How long ago did this happen? They have to be about 4 -5 wks along I think before the vet can tell if they are pregnant. Do you want her to have puppies at some point. If not I would just go ahead and schedule an appt to have her spayed. What kind of dog is your male and how much does Mollie weigh? It does sound to me like she could be pregnant. But I'm not sure. My Mollie nipples got big and she stayed swollen the whole time. I would call my vet just to see what they they think. Wish I could have been more help.

| I would definetly see a vet, how much does you female weigh and how much does your male weigh. 9 months is just very young! I hope that everything turns out ok!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Something that you might also want to consider. With her age and being as tiny as she is, your vet can still do a spay even if pregnant. You may want to discuss the risks involved with your vet and decide what is best for your girl. Keep us updated.

| Wow I would see if the vet can tell you for sure if she is pregnant and go from there. But honestly he is too big for her at least at the weights you have stated. I would never breed a bigger male to a smaller female. |

| I did forget to mention there is a blood test they can also do, but if I remember right the female has to be 4 weeks along before they can do the test.. Also just because your male is bigger does not mean he will throw big.. Two of my males are on the larger size 6-7 lbs and they hardly ever throw a puppy large enough for me to keep back.. Do you know the lines in your male and female? If not you might want to get ahold of their breeders and ask them about the background of the bloodlines of your yorkies..

| If she was in heat and they was together then theres a good chance she is pregnant. She does seem very young and small. I would have her checked at the vets . here is a good link with lots of good info on it about preg dogs. Good luck . I wish you well. http://www.debbiejensen.com/signs_of_pregnant.html |

| with mollie's age and size, i would really like her not to be pregnant, haha. but i dont want to spay her, because somewhere along the line, i would like to be able to breed her. we werent expecting her to go into heat for about a year (thats what the breeder told us) so we waited to get Bugsy (the male) neutered. but now that she has gone into heat, we have gotten him fixed, but its probably too late by now. as for knowing their lines, mollie has a great history. but with bugsy, we're not too sure. the "breeder" we got him from was very dishonest, and we later found out that he was actually not the breeder and he got Bugsy from Texas (i live in california). when we tried to confront him about that, he claimed that he had told us, but there were 4 of us there when we got the little pup, and neither of us had heard him say that. we also found out that Bugsy had actualy been bought before we got him, and someone had returned him because he was too big and his poor little ears didnt stand up yet. (they were clipped wrong and they will not stand up) thank you for your help everyone, i will keep everyone posted. |

| Magdalena16~ Good luck with your little one. Even if she was in heat...it's a possibility that it wasn't the "right time" when (and if) they actually tied. Do you know what day of her heat this happened? Maybe that will help you guessitmate? |
