HI, At what age do you start trimming the hair from the ears? Do you do the inside and outside? What type of trimmer do you use? Would just scissors work? My little guys are 8 weeks now and their ears are not up. Thanks for all the great people and advice.

My cousin breeds and she said that ears will tend to droop when the puppies are teething and when the males testicles drop, so it's not unusual for ears to do something weird from time to time. I'm working on getting my 8 week old females up now. We shaved all the hair on the front and the back, so we hope that helps. I've also been massaging the ears before taping them. My 3 yr old's were perfect at 8, so I'm treading through unknown waters with my new one.

Should one even be concerned about it at 8 weeks? From what I have read, it says 12 weeks, but not to wait till 6 months cause then it is too late. But I suppose if you are selling then you might want them up before you sell. Jeanie

Hey. This reminds me of my post that I posted not too long ago. Lola is four months. I tried the shaving, massaging, taping etc. I found it was uncomfortable for her. And although the standard says ears erect, I am not planning on showing her. She is now staying natural. Her ears are halfway up and halfway down. (LOL if that makes sense) She looks fine to me. But I am sure if you want them to stand, there are people here who can help you. Thanks.
