Yes my vet said some do correct themselves, its very possible, really on an individual basis because the size varies of the hernia.SoCalyorkiLvr posted her babies resolved, so theres one example. Both of my girls though most likely will need repair because the size of the hernia. There is question of a strangulated hernia which is dangerous so Im not taking any chances and having the surgeries performed.

I have an agreement not to breed my new male to CKC dogs. Its the breeders request. I was well aware of it and it will be honored. I did not anticipate these problems coming up so it poses a bit of a problem for me. If it was an option I would do it in a heartbeat.
No One answered whether they thought I was being responsible or irresponsible on my breeding question, so Im going to draw my own conclusion on opinions on that one.
Ill just let this thread be buried now, but hopefully it will help someone that has a question on inguinal hernias, they will learn it is hereditary, it can be dangerous if it is larger, and small ones can repair themselves. But if there is doubt get the surgery.
