An xray wasn't done. The vet. said he didn't see a need to waste my money. I have never heard of false pregnancys so I am still in total shock. He could even squeeze milk out of her. I'm anxious to talk to others that may have experienced this as well.

how could they know then it was a false pg? that seems very odd to me, I think I would be tempted to get a second oppinion

Two different Dr.'s checked her out this morning. Neither one could feel any heartbeats or palpitations. I just want to cry. She looks pregnant.

My cocker had a false pregnancy - it's really not uncommon in a female dog...it IS strange that she got swollen and all but I know it can happen.

So sorry about no puppies ....I think many breeders do get xrays and IF I were a breeder I would that myself....it's worth spending the money on them to get an idea of how many and size....but you did trust your vet and I can understand that too....what a shame.....I know you were excited

Fals pregnancies are more common in yorkies than people think. They'll gain weight, have milk, the whole works. It's very strange and hard to comprehend why they would have these.

is there a way to tell other than xray/ ultrasound? and if there is a false pg, what can one do about their female? Is the something they can do to cease milk supply and such?
