ok, i took out all the towels and stuff, put the heating pad under the box....but the mother doesn't want to stay in there and she's trying to cover them with the only towel in the box.....she fed 2 of them, but the other 2 would not suck. i fed them with the milk n bottle...waiting for the next round and i will try again to see if they would suck.....and (the mother) she seems so thirsty but she wouldn't drink water....

You're not suppose to supplement pups for at least 24 hours. You need to pull the other pups off. Open the 2 pup's mouths and latch them on to the teet. They need the colustrum from mom.

It's natural for mom to cover them up that why you don't want a lot of bedding in there. Also, turn your pad down to low, put a couple of layers of towels down and THEN the plastic box.

Also, if you have to supplement, use an eye dropper. They won't each very much at all since they are newborns.

your mom needs fluids to bring down the milk...get a syringe and give her goats milk or even water.

If the two pups arent sucking you NEED to be concerned.... They need to eat if they dont you will lose them!

Please put her in a small crate and lock her in so she cant leave her babies they will find their way to her if she doesnt lay with them. Since she had a c-section if the mom still wants nothing to do with the baby but a tad bit of butter on their backs and butts, that sometimes will get moms going.

If these little ones are not latched on strong soon, please call someone to help you latch them or get them to the vet.

Pups should be eating every 2-3 hours but closer to 2 hours. That mean getting up in the middle of the night and making sure that mom is feeding the pups.

I thought that your vet was going to deliver naturally. Did something happen to warrant a c-section?

What is the temperature of the room? Maybe it is too hot? Be sure mom drinks, maybe she would drink puppy milk you get at the store (i think it is goats milk) might be more inticing for her.

ok, I just fed them...well KiKi did...but she fed every single one of them....She had to have a C section because the X-ray came out that one of the pup is too big to be delivered naturally....
But they are all full now, just sleeping..
Oh she's suppose to cover the pups? ok, got it, because she use to do that on puppy pads after she poo or pee to cover it, so i thought she was just trying to "get rid" of the pups....
I made her drink some water and she ate a little cheese . and half a TUMs..im making her some chicken and rice now....
they all have a full belly now..YEA!!!

Just one question, ...SHe's not going to lay on them , is she? Also she kinda "kicks" them away too, is that normal?

I'm sure everything will be fine! Congrats on the litter. What were the baby weights? Do you have a little scale? I liked to weigh mine every day, and on day 4 I noticed one had not gained ANY weight, I started letting him and mommy nurse up on the bed to make sure he had enough to eat. I would probably move room temp to 80. But definitely not too hot. It does make mom a little too hot, but babies need the warmth. That's why mom needs the extra water. I would give her cottage cheese/yogurt, maybe not regular cheese, it may constipate her?

well...this morning about 4:00 am... the mother ate ALOT...haha she ate yoguart, cottage cheese..and some chicken rice soup..I still have to force her to drink some water.. and she hasn't pee or poo yet...
the puppies seems healthy...they are just "swimming" around and they are so cute....
KiKi now will lay comfortably to feed the babies but that's it, after feeding she stays as far as possible, if one get close, she PANICS...so i guess we still have alot of work to do...i didn't want to be so forceful but I do keep her as close as possible with the babies ( in the box)
anyway..hope she will soon realize they are her babies..

With some mothers, it takes time especially after a c-sectioin. Since they did not go through the actual birthing process. But since she is feeding them, that is a good sign. How old is she?

just in case there is some confusion...do NOT let her cover the pups.
also...I keep the heating pad under the box on only one side of it(about half). That way pups or mom can move to the cooler side if they are too warm.
