| frequent urination in pregnant female? My female is breed and pregnant 35 days, this is not her first litter. She seems to be urinating much more frequently than in her past litters. Last night she wanted to go out four times and usually not at all. Past pregnancies once in the middle of the night especially this far from delivery. It is possible that she has more puppies than normal, she tends to have from 4-5 and this time she seems to be bigger than her last litters. But if her frequent urination is more than the squeeze on her bladder I want to be informed. Has this happened to any of your females, and what was the issue? Thanks in advance. |

| This is nothing I have ever been concerned about, so if it was even an issue, it wasnt enough for me to notice, and I "hover" over my mommas. I do ultrasounds on my pregnant females so I am not trying to second guess how many babies are present....I closely follow every step of my momma's pregnancy. I like knowing what I have going on with that momma, inside and out, on any given day, as well as the babies she is carrying. Maybe a urinalysis, with culture and sensitivities, is in order? |

| For those of you who might be interested, I'm actually disappointed in the lack of responses, thank you Yorkiemom1!, Mia had a UTI. All blood tests and actually urine test also, were normal but we decided to try an antibiotic, and after day #3 she is back to normal. She has also perked up, I thought she was a bit listless from just being pregnant but now she seems to have more energy as well. I think she just feels better. I wish we had tried the antibiotic before the expensive blood tests etc, but loosing a litter and/or a mom isn't worth waiting on. |

Glad baby momma is feeling better.... As far as lack of responses....perhaps no one felt really comfortable "treading into those waters", by trying to second guess what may be happening with a pregnant Yorkie. No harm done, no foul....they may have wanted to be sure you went to the vet with this pregnant momma, rather than settle for guesses about illness made over the internet, on a pregnant dog. And it looks like maybe you would have settled for guesses, and throwing antibiotics at an unknown, definite diagnosis, to avoid "expensive blood tests", only following up if no improvmnt was seen.......that is too great a risk to take on a pregnant dog. Chalk it up to the cost of doing business. Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 10-03-2015 at 01:41 PM. | |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Just now seeing this, and my suspicion of a UTI was correct. Good to hear that your little mamma is doing well.
