				   | When do unfixed males become "actice", I'm going to breed the dog once with a friend's matletse when it gets older and give one of the puppies to my friends who doesnt have a dog and really need ones. Just post when they become active so they can, reproduce.

I'm not a breeder at all, but I give a lot of credit to those who are. It takes a lot of responsibilities, not just because they're both cute. Good luck!

				   | Sorry but this is for all the wrong reasons to breed a dog. If you really want to help your friend have a dog there are thousands of them in shelters that need new homes and many are small and young. Why don't you jump onto www.petfinder.com and look through all the little ones that need a home. Breeding can change the personality of your little boy and can change his social skills. As long as you breed this way more little ones will be euthanized.

				   | My thoughts exactly. This seems to be the wrong reason to breed this little guy. If you are set in your mind to do it though, please do it responsibly and have a full physical done on him and the female before you even consider. Make sure you have several responsible, caring people lined up who are ready and willing to adopt the babies prior to the breeding. If your going to mate him with a maltese, then I guess breed standard isn't a real issue for you, but you should still know the background from both parent's ancestors and have some testing done prior. You should also choose two very good specimans of each breed.I am not against the mating of 2 purebred dogs as long as it is done in a responsible way with a carefully planned program. I don't feel that is what is happening here. I hope you will take this into consideration and I wish you the best! Last edited by yorkiemom1970; 12-24-2005 at 01:09 AM. |

				   | I've had 3 shelter dogs Suzie (dead), Katie (dead), and snowy (11 years). I I'd breed him in like 2 years though.
