Good that is nice to hear. May I also suggest you do a Bile acid test at 16wks on each puppy prior to placement?

That will help to rule out Liver Disease as I am sure you know is very prevalent in this breed.

Then also suggest a Trupanion Pet Insurance plan as of six months ago it was the only plan that does cover genetic diseases.

So here we go on genetic diseases:

LP surgery anywhere from $2K to $3.5K dependent upon the severity
LS that is Liver shunt surgery and btw no surgeon in Ontario is really an expert at least $2K or to $3K
CT collapsing trachea heartbreaking no treatment for it.

Hip Dysplasia and or Leggs Perthes - Surgery to correct about the same as above.

PRA - Eye disease no surgical options the dog goes blind.

Cataracts - No surgery to date - well actually there is but the surgery cost is way out there

Hyperuricosuria - Stones very painfull condition. And sometimes surgery can be an option. Cost unknown to me.

So I am very happy that you will personally warrant and indeminfy for your future puppy owners against all those conditions and will pay for the surgery where applicable.

And Judi in our different ways we are both the owners from hell in one sense.

I moved a whole lot of earth for one of my gals to get seen sooner with a critical condition. My own vet moved his own things to get the pathology report done in 48 hrs.

I am going out on limb here in a small way. 40 days for Xrays - so not there unless the vet has an unstated reason why so early. If he/she doesn't know 40 days is too early. Quite simply I would bail from that vet.

i am sure of her tie date as i was with her i was talking to someone turned around and they tied it happen 2 times. a day apart so i know what days she tied her 56th day is may 2 so tuesday she will be 40 days and he made an apt for an X-ray he said thats the earliest we can do it so now i will go in and get just a check up and make an apt on day 54 so she will get her xray then

LOL so does mine. But he is very knowledgeable, and willing to discuss and even review info I present.

Of course I come in and send to him all the testing I do on my dogs. CERFS HD and ED thryoid, etc.

He was very sorry to see at six years old Magic was ddx'd with "juvenile" cataract. He knew I would retire him from breeding, which I did, and contacted all the puppy owners. It was a very small cataract but nevertheless there. And btw he is not neutered and will not be unless of testicular cancer.

Despite CERF;s at 18 months 30 months 48 months nothing!

The breeders life is one of much angst at times.....

First tie, perhaps, an accident, second tie makes it a "planned breeding"......you ARE a breeder!.....Fortunately, you know what the days are so you know when she is due to deliver. You can be all prepared, which is mandatory! Good luck with your momma and her impending whelp!

Want to call it that? You deliberately let your female tie with what I hope is the same dog the next day? How else do we call it?

That was no accident this first pregnancy. So what health tests did you actually do? Before "accidentally" planning to breed her...

Keep in mind all the health tests I posted above; gawd I truly hope those puppies are not a minefield for their future owners.

no i didnt let them tie on purpose sorry u got it all twisted i have a male that i adopted the owner told me he was fixed so i didnt think i had to worry my girl came into heat and i didnt think i had to worry till i turned and saw them tie then i was looking for a place to put him while she was in heat but they tied again i couldnt find a place as i am not from here i was on vacation so it was not on purpose that it happend anyways its done and all i can do is care for her and the pups the best i can ok i pray every day everything will be fine

Well in North America it is very easy even for a novice owner to tell if a dog is fixed. They have no Balls!

A place to put him? I am sorry I don't understand that. Are you saying you went on vacation in Feb or March with your two dogs, the male that you did not know was not neutered, and then your female dog who came in heat when all of you were on vacation? May I suggest the bathroom door at least when you were on vacation, or hey how about crates, or xpens. That first day when you saw a tie, you knew you had a problem.

You come back, then go to vet, get her spayed after her heat ended, or as I said before a mismatch shot.

yes she was 5.8 pounds before pregnancy and the male was 4.5 pounds they are both yorkies and i am getting her spayed as son as she has the babies i dont want this to happen again thanks you

yes i went on vacation for 6 months its been 2 months now i adopted him on my vacation so i didnt have much time im use to having girls so i didnt notice if he had his balls on or off sorry
