Molly’s Dad, First I want to give you my condolences on the loss of your wife, I couldn't imagine the pain that you are going through. Second, you seem like an educated man. If YOU want to breed your Molly then do it- It does sounds like you want the best for her and you wouldn't put her at risk. That is a great thing. Do what you feel is in your heart, and make sure you know the repercussions of breeding. I personally wouldn't, it sounds like too much work for me- I have a 4 pound male and I didn't even want to stud him out. He is my sweet little baby and although I would be ecstatic to have one of his offspring’s, it wouldn't be worth going through having a stud. I hope you stick around and not let anyone get to you- You seem like a good person and it would be great to see you around! :D |
Thanks Lovespadp. I dont plan on going anywheres :-) I think I found a home. |

I like logical thinking people because that is what I am by nature. Must be why I love computer programming and why my boss's boss drives me bonkers lol Hitler? Really? Is it logical to compare hitler's actions to breeders breeding a dog? As was mentioned before, if I see a Yorkie in a dog show and think, "That's it! That's the dog I've been wanting." Then, I go and spend money to get that dog and I got one of your non-standard "pure" yorkies when I could have went to a true and experienced breeder and gotten a yorkie that is going to look like the one I wanted in the first place....I would be beyond Pizzed! Hitler? C'mon. I like that you are asking these questions. I like that you do not have your mind made up about breeding Mollie. I'm sorry it's not an option to get another pup in her line from her breeder. Why is that not an option? Does this breeder not breed any longer? You say not to play God. There is a difference between playing God and being a responsible dog parent. If you didn't control who Mollie was bred with, she could go get preggers by the pit bull down the street, no? One more thing. No body here has told you, "No. You cannot breed Mollie. No, do not breed even pure yorkies." Everyone has said that you shouldn't. I agree. Some very good points have been made in this thread. I lied - one more thing lol - if you breed a dog with no experience or training or license to do so, you are by definition a byb. I know several byb's and it doesn't make them all bad (I disagree that all byb's are inately wrong). It is what it is though. |

Hitler was a modifier, dont take it the wrong way :-) He tried to create the perfect world and kill off all the jews, there where less then 4,000 jews at the end. Another story. The god part was based on altering the yorkie to create the perfect breed. There where a few post saying i should not bc she does not meet standards and those state less the 7# well, depending on what club you are looking at. AKC, UKC etc. My point was, pure is pure and if you are a good breeder trying to improve the breed them it should not matter if she is less then 7 pounds. I can start a club today and in 7 years you will see posts saying that it does not meet my club standards lol. That is basically what i was saying. Improving the breed does not mean to breed within the standards. Someone here said it the best and sorry for forgetting who said it but they said that it was a templet but many do not think so. Its not a option bc we have moved from Texas and im not so sure it would be the same and im not to sure if Mollys father is still around. I would have to call them if i can get ahold of them again. All there info is on her paper work. Forgot to add, if someone wants a show yorkie then they need to pay for one and someone who trys to create and breed withing those standerds on perpose then they are doing it for the money, my thoughts only.. WOW! its ok everyone..... Lets just close this thread out. |
Ok what is the “Breeding” section for? It says… Breeder Talk “For discussion on breeding and breeder” Is this section just for the “ Reputable Breeders of YT”?? because I don’t see where it says that.. Everyone that comes on here asking questions about breeding gets torn a new ( you know what) I know we have great breeders here that are able to give great advise, but it seems the wrong people are giving that advice, the OP asked a simple question… “Is it safe to breed a 9 pound female” is it really that hard to answer his question without drilling someone? Some people sir it up with the OP to the point when an actual Breeder comes on to help, the OP is already frustrated with how they were treated they don’t really want to listen. The point is it is easier to catch flies with honey than vinegar, I really wish some of you would be a little more open minded and start with honey. You can educate all you want, but nobody is going to listen when you try to educate the way I see in this thread. REGARDLESS of what you all say- the OP can do whatever he wanted to- nobody can stop him… however I’m sure he would open his ears a little more if people went to him the right way. It is crazy to go back and forth like this. This is not a pissing contest- we should lift each other up not pull each other down. |
