I wonder if you called the breeder would she be willing to lend a hand with the pups?

Plus thank god for you, but why would you agree to give this breeder these pups, Is Suri not yours to keep?

I dont want to take away form what is important right now, caring for those precious babies, I was just curious.

Technically she isn't legally mine yet when we know she's out of the woods she will be.so these pups are the breeders she's paid all expenses that have occurred so far. I am raising them because I wanted to out of caring for these dogs so much.

Just catching up. I pray momma will be okay. And I agree I think you are the best person for these pups. You will get very tired but well worth it. Giving them back may be much harder then you think. Please keep us posted when you can.

Well Im hoping mama is doing better and that she gets to come home to you and the pups soon. Im sure that she needed you in her life just as much as you need her.

Wow..I really hope Suri gets better soon!! I dont know all the details, but it sounds like YOU are putting YOUR heart and soul into momma and these babies, not this "breeder". And YOU are the one worrying yourself to death and tiring yourself out. I dont know that the "breeder" deserves to have them back..just my 2 cents. Good luck to you...Ill be checking back....

Believe it or not, I found myself in a very similar situation about a year ago....I too, took a pregnant yorkie, handled the whelp, had complications, almost lost momma, lost one pup, had 4 healthy babies....raised the litter, and in the end had to send momma back to the greeder.... Although, I made sure she was spayed soon after! YAY! (at my expense as well). I know where your heart is..I ended up "winning" the litter per say....after all, I did all the work, cried all the tears, lost all the sleep... I found them great homes with spay/neuter contracts. I still keep in contact with these pups. I learned a lot with that experience....I was trying to change a BYB. again, I learned a lot.

Just canned puppy formula??? Not enough....

1 can Just Born with Colostrum
4 oz Pedialyte
1 Raw Egg Yolk
1 Cup whole live cultured Yogurt
3 tbsp Karo Syrup
3 tsp. Vi-Daylin Baby Vitamins
This gives you 14-16 calories/cc.....you need to be SURE each baby is getting 1cc/oz of body weight,,,,,if baby weighs 3 oz, baby gets 3cc....feed every 2 hours, around the clock. Keep accurate weights on babies, weigh 2x a day....that will tell you if anybody is failing to thrive.
Babies MUST be kept at 90*....NO DRAFTS.... They need stimulation to pee and poop after each feeding....

WARNING!! PLEASE DO NOT PUT BABIES ON A HEATING PAD, COVERED WITH A BLNKET....EVEN ON LO, IF THEY WORM AND END UP ON TOP OF THAT HEATING PAD, YOU WILL COOK THEM.....Put the heating pad UNDER their bed.....at this stage, a shoe box will work great....keeps them all close and warm and just set the shoe box on top of the heating pad....be sure they can not oooch out over the top of the box.....

Did you learn to tube feed babies prior to their whelp?

I understand the situation. I am praying for you and Suri and the babies.
I have fostered pregnant females, delivered babies and hand raised motherless babies. It is hard work but so worth it.

Is there going to be someone there with this momma all night? If not, I would be taking her to an emergency vet for treatment overnight....

I just got home from the vet...........not good news I held mama as she passed I am such a basket case.I need to take care of her babies she would of wanted me to I know that.she had eclampsia really bad she shouldn't of been bred. I'm mad as heck and so sad at the same time its not fair

OMG I am so very heart broken to read this post. I am so very, very sorry. I know how very upset you must be.

I will say this, there is no way in hell I would let that so called breeder or what ever the heck she is get hold of these babies, lord knows what she will do with them.

RIP Sweet Suri.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this. Eclampsia is so dangerous. Since you won't have Suri, I would try to keep one of the pups. I don't know how your contract was worded, but if the original breeder knew she was preeclamptic, she should have anticipated this as a potential outcome. I am so sorry for your loss.

Poor Suri.........she paid the ultimate price for the decision of the breeder......so sad, and my heart breaks for her.....

So now, you are momma to these orphaned babies. You need to have someone show you HOW TO TUBE FEED these babies. That way:
You have complete control over how much formula the baby gets.
You have complete control over how many calories the babies are getting.
You will haver the time to take care of each baby....it takes about 3 minutes to tube feed a baby, as opposed toi fooling around with bottle feeding.
Actually, with tube feeding, you have less chance of the baby getting aspiration pneumonia....
I hope you scurry and get right on top of this....you dont want to be fighting a battle keeping these babies alive. Good luck with your precious new little charges, momma...
