Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Wow, I just got notified by my town that... I need to apply and get a Kennel license, since I have 5 adult dogs and a 6 month old ;since one of them is a breeding female and the 6 month old is going to stay intact and used as a stud.. . permanent living in my house... NEW regulations by the town, so i will be going to my board of health tomorrow to apply for this NEW license. God knows how much is going to cost me.. , I am thinking that showing and breeding is not what people think it is...... so I am thinking maybe this will discourage BYB from breeding.. or Am I just hoping..... it does not matter that 2 of my girls are spayed and 2 of my boys are neutered.. can you inmagine... I think this is Rediculous... Bigger government , bigger regulations, bigger TAXES.... that is all I can think of.. so if you live in NJ, and you own more than 5 dogs please check with your local board of health, you might need a Kennel license even if you don't breed.... hugs, |

| Sorry this is a sign of the times regulate everything. It is sad that you can be a small hobby breeder and you need a kennel license like a big facility

| My city in Minnesota requires a kennel license if you have three or more dogs. I'm not sure of the cost. Signatures from all your neighbors are needed also. |

| Well, all I can say, is THANK GOD SOMEBODY HAS THEIR PRIORITIES RIGHT!!! Never mind the total devastation this area is inundated with, never mind the human dustress and frustration and sorrow in the midst of catastophic storm damage! Thank God, they have the time to go forth and make certain everyone with intact animals, has gone and made the correct attempts to secure a necessary kennel license. We have fought this on all levels of government, and the number of dogs has dropped from 12 breeding females down to 7. These zealots (PETA, HSUSA) have been overheard to announce, "Next year, we will get it down to 3, and then the next year, we will be done with this for good!!!" So.....you think you want to breed dogs and do it all the right ways? Do all the correct vetting and registering your dogs? You want to produce the best puppies that can be produced, that are the benchmark of the breed standard??? The only people that are going to get around this untouched are small puppy mills and BYB...they do not advertise, they do not register litters, they fly quietly under the radar and sell their babies out of a box, from the trunk of their car on the side of the road or a parking lot...cash and carry, no way to track them down....I was all over this for the last 2 years, begging people to sign petitions on the AKC site....and it is here now!...I am sorry for your situation Carmen. Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I signed the AKC petition, I was told this is a local regulation, our mayor decided that the dogs licenses needed updating in midst of the devastation and pain that the storm caused here. I don't get it WHY NOW.. but then again new mayor new rules and new regulations.. New Taxes and so on... I will update tomorrow with all the details.. My neighbor breeds hunting dogs, and he got a letter too... . |

| A doubt a kennel liscense would stop BYB. Many don't even register their dogs with towns- Only use doubt responsible owners do!

Please just be double sure you know the law and their intentions if this requires you let them into your house. Don't open your door to these people without an attorney and lots of credible witnesses on hand. Good luck.
