| False pregnancy? I took Maddie to the Vet today to find out how many puppies she had. There was no sign of any pups. I am a little sad and also a little happy. I didn't want her to have puppies so young, but ever since my doc told us she would be perfectly fine and that she was healthy and big enough, I have been preparing with excitement. BUT THERE WAS NOTHING! She may have a false pregnancy. There were a few little spots that we saw that could be something forming. The only thing is that there was only ONE time that they were "stuck" together by accident. I have been timing her pregnancy from that date. As far as I know, there was NO action after that day. Her heatbeat was normal (which he said her heartbeat would be faster if she were pregnant) and he didn't find any trace of heartbeat for any pups. Oh well. I think that if it is false, having pups will be much healthier for her on her 2nd heat (at least). Has anyone gone through this? Also, Monkey is trying to mount her again for the first time since that date. He started doing this yesterday after I picked them up from the groomer's. Any thoughts on that?

| I think you should go get her exrayed (sp?) in 10-12 more days. The pups might be too small to see?? Good luck. |

| It is quite possible that it was too early. She is 46 days now. It's just crazy...I totally feel a little lump like a puppy on the right side of her belly. So, still waiting to find out for sure! She goes back for her x-rays again on the 26th. We'll know for sure by then. Meanwhile, i will just keep feeding her and caring for her as a pregnant girl

| They told me Belle wasn't pregnant on day 46, she ended up having 2. It was horrible getting the news that she wasn't pregnant, they thought she had reabsorbed the litter. Needless to say on about day 56 I was petting her belly and the little guy's started to move. Wait until closer to due date and get x-ray. Good luck let us know.

| I am talking about this on another post, but I thought I would mention it here too. I heard heartbeats today!! YAY! Puppies for sure! I think it was just too early to tell in the x-rays. We're going again next week.

No but seriously, its hard to tell. Swollen teets, eats more, sleeps more. Your sure bet is to wait 45 days from when you think they did the dirty deed and go for xrays. | |
