| I'm just happy that she's healthy and that we can try again at a better time for her. When will her teats and belly go back to normal (didn't think to ask the doc at the time)? I just feel so sorry for her. The doc says that a false pregnancy is an overwhelming desire to have pups. She seems to be nesting and everything My poor little girl. I would have never imagined she would have any desire to have pups right now.

| I am sure you are disappointed, but she'll be ready again soon. In the meantime study up on what effects false pregnancies have on your babies emotionally. |

| I finally hear a heartbeat!! Loud and clear! It's amazing. i'm so excited. I am now 100% that Maddie is not going through a false pregnancy. I only hear a heartbeat for one pup. Is it possible that she may only have one puppy?

| I'm 100% positive. It's a much faster beat than Maddie's. I listened to hers first not to get it confused. I have noticed a small bump on that side of her belly and that's where the heartbeat is. Also, when we did the xray, there were tiny little specs on that side of her too. The vet said that it may be possible that those little specs were bones beginning to form, but he didn't want to say for sure. That was the only thing seen in the xray. There were no other little specs either. We're taking her back on the 26th for more xrays. The vet said if I'm off on conception even by a few days it could be possible that it is too early to see. If I go by the date of conception I've been going by, she would be 51 days today. I'm thinking she would be due around the 1st?

| I've heard of Yorkies only having one pup. There is one Yorkie here in town that has had one pup at a time 4 times over the years! Dont' know why - that's just all she throws.

Who wants to have 3 & 4 kids at a time anyway!?!?LOL! Growing up in the country, I am just used to dogs having huge litters. They were all also a little bigger than a yorkie too. Maddie's belly just seems to be getting so big. I can't imagine she only has one pup. I guess I will just have to wait until the 26th.

| First, congratulations. AND, yep, I have had more than one mom have only one puppy. They usually are big as horses, too when born but that does not mean they are gonna be big adults. An X-ray is of little value before the end of the 7th week as their little skeletons do not set the calciun to show on the films til that date. Mercy me, let us know what your vet says. WOOOOOHOOOO! Preggers after all!! |
