Villette...all breeds can have exlampsia..but most often it will not happen with a dog Ray-ray's size with only 2 pups. If she eats well, she should be fine.

How scarey, after reading this I just happened to be going to the vet today so I bought a bottle of calcium to have on hand as the vet is about 20 miles away. I have had this happen one time 20 or more years ago. Now I am prepared.

Just gave Gracie a good bath...she hasn't had a good one since a couple of days before she whelped. She is SO frisky, jumping around! She hasn't felt this good in a while!

Talk to your vet and find out what they carry and what is recommended. Never give straight calcium but a calcium supplement. Tums with calcium works just as well.

That's good to know. I imagine it is good for your heart to see her like that, too.
