| Pregnant yorkie barking and whimpering alot! Has any one experienced their pregnant dog barking alot at you and whimpering for no apparent reason? She's around 47 days pregnant. |

| Whimpering If it doesnt stop soon take her in and get her checked by your vet. There are things that can go wrong, even this early. For instance, uterus can rupture. You usually know what is "norm" for your dog and if this if the first time I would say something is definitely wrong.

| Yeah she's been on puppy food for a few weeks. She get home cooked food 3 times a day with her puppy dry food. |

Calcium is one supplement that deserves some special attention. Supplementing a pregnant dog is definitely not recommended. Giving calcium supplementation, especially late in pregnancy, has been linked to increasing the risk of eclampsia (low blood calcium) in nursing dogs. Excess calcium has also been linked to difficult deliveries, soft tissue calcium deposits in the puppies and certain joint abnormalities in the pups. He's a first time breeder, I hope he's following closely with a vet.
