Pregnant yorkie barking and whimpering alot! Has any one experienced their pregnant dog barking alot at you and whimpering for no apparent reason? She's around 47 days pregnant. |
sorry no experience with this. carmen might be able to help shes the one lots of momma and baby experience. good luck i hope all is ok. |
Whimpering If it doesnt stop soon take her in and get her checked by your vet. There are things that can go wrong, even this early. For instance, uterus can rupture. You usually know what is "norm" for your dog and if this if the first time I would say something is definitely wrong. |
My motto is "Go ahead and over-react! Rather safe than sorry"!!!! |
She's not in pain. I've worked it out hehe she's talking to me for chicken!! Thanks everyone, I got one hungry moma on my hands! |

Calcium is one supplement that deserves some special attention. Supplementing a pregnant dog is definitely not recommended. Giving calcium supplementation, especially late in pregnancy, has been linked to increasing the risk of eclampsia (low blood calcium) in nursing dogs. Excess calcium has also been linked to difficult deliveries, soft tissue calcium deposits in the puppies and certain joint abnormalities in the pups. He's a first time breeder, I hope he's following closely with a vet. |
