Glad that Foxy is home safe and sound, you 2 take it easy and get some rest. I doubt you will ever hear from her previous owner again :mad:. Foxy was so lucky to find her way into your heart, now she has the rest of her life to know love and happiness with you. You did the right thing for her and she will always love you for it. |
Glad to hear she is home w her mommy. Both of you need some rest after all of this. I'm sure she would have down cartwheels if she could when she saw you! Good job, mommy! |
Thanks again guys! I will update on her in a couple days, she refuses to leave my side..I guess she thinks Im going to leave her again. The vet staff kept saying how well behaved she was, and that everytime someone walked by she thought they were coming to see her..lol..OH, and her stomach is completely gone, as in she was all puppies. She is back to normal size. |

Im sorry that you had to make this decision, as i know that sometimes decisions of the right kind can be the hardest ones to make...but, know in your heart you did the right thing for Foxy...She is lucky that you found her and had the heart to take her out of that rotten place! Just read your thread and feel that you did the only thing you could to try to help Foxy out of her terrible situation. Now she can start to get healthy and happy and start to enjoy just being a dog and a lovely lady's best friend. i decided since this lady wasnt calling me back i was going to email her and i let my emotions flow. I wasnt nasty by any means but she needs to know the pain shes caused this poor girl. I told her to basically have a nice life cause i know foxy will. |
I'm glad Foxy came through her surgery well. It wasn't an easy decision for you, but you out HER health and HER needs first. Kudos to you for doing that. I emailed the lady I got Foxy from yesterday, and her significant other emails me back this morning. And his email basically said he could have gotten at least 800 or more for her, and they couldnt tell she was pregnant anymore than me. And he says, and this is classic, be happy , mad, sad, it is what it is..UGHHH! I emailed back told him to not email anymore, that future emails would be deleted and not even read. I also told him that his gf needs to woman up and email me herself since this is the person I got the dog from to begin with. I also told him he better be glad I am not reporting them for animal abuse and/or taking them to court. I probably shouldnt have said that part, but I was angry. Anyways, on another note she is doing well this morning resting comfortably in her crate. Thanks again everyone! |
Wow, so her SO is just as much as a winner as she is! Don't blame you for getting so angry at the idiot! And $800 more - in his dreams! They (and Foxy) were lucky when you stepped in and took her home! Glad to hear Foxy is doing well. Unfortunately, some ppl in this world are just never going to get it. It was wonderful that you were Foxy's voice. I'm sure she is so happy her new mommy is willing to fight for her - she's probably never experienced love like that in her life. ;) |
Question though, as I type things and say things when Im angry..lol..Is it illegal to threaten to report someone for animal abuse or threaten to take them to court..lol..by email? |
Actually, I think you could have called animal control in your state and report the animal neglect, and you probably could have taken them to small claims court since they sold you a pregnant dog, told you it was a false pregnancy when you contacted them about it - ?fraud? I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think it's illegal at all. In fact, I think you are right - If you wanted to be a pain to them, you could have. They should thank you for being so kind to them and to the animal they supposedly "loved". You paid for vet bills they were obviously not willling to pay for, plus you did not demand your money back when you found out you were sold a pregnant/neglected dog. |
I am just so glad Foxy is in your caring hands now. I don't think you can get in any trouble for saying you were going to report them. Maybe if you threatened them with bodily harm etc. I don't think they would want any further attention brought to their breeding operations. I think you did the right thing by saying you want no further communications from them. Foxy is going to be feeling so much better now. |
Ok, was just wondering cause I do stupid things sometimes. Im obviously not going to sue anyone or report anyone, but his stupid answer just made me cringe. |

Well so about a half an hour ago I get a text message, its from the previous owner. Shes freaked out Imma call and report her, and shes apologizing for her boyfriends actions,etc. I told her to call me asap, and she said shes gonna call me this afternoon after she gets out of class. Im more mad at the situation than directly at her. Am I over reacting? |
I'm sure you did put the fear in that idiot!! She probably knew Foxy was pregnant, but that would be hard to prove. I don't know that I would even bother talking to her. She is probably afraid you're going to report her, instigating animal control to come to her house and look around. Be careful w these ppl. They sound a little shady. Think about it. Maybe you just want to tell her you were looking for an apology and just didn't appreciate the SO's tone. That's all. Let us know how you make out. |

What's done is done. You know what they did was wrong and so do they. You aren't going to gain anything by continuing to talk to the previous owner, and feeding your anger. It is just going to keep you upset and zap your energy. I suggest instead that you try to get over the things you can't change, and focus all your energy on loving Foxy and giving her the most wonderful life you can. I promised updates, so here goes..Foxy is doing well, resting and following me wherever she can. Last night though I could tell she wasnt feeling great because normally she wants to be in my lap or right beside me, but she went into her crate and snuggled into her blankets and went to sleep. I figured this was ok, she has had a traumatic couple of days. As far as her previous owner, she never did call, and I think it was for the best. No more contact from her is best. So thanks again everyone, she goes back next week to be checked. |

Just seeing this post and I must say it is so refreshing to see someone come here looking for information and using that information on making her decision. So many times people come with questions and then get angry with the answers they receive and refuse to follow any of the suggestions given. You have my admiration for doing what was best for your baby. |
thanks. Foxy decided to pull out some of her staples today and totally make me freak out. I called my vet and they told me not to stress about it because they do sub q stitches and only do staples for hyper dogs. Lol. But she had me worried. |
