For mom I usually add an egg yolk.....on the Goats Milk. Without the egg yolk for puppy supplementing and for pups at room temperature. Hopefully you won't have to supplement the pups and mom will take care of it all.

I was sure she would be dead, after being stuck for so long, but I quickly cleaned her up and she went to crying. My first tears of the morning. The other 3 came fairly quickly after with no trouble. We could have lost both girls and the mama. And from there is where I went ahead to the vet, and then to the next vet who did the babies surgery.

For anyone who is considering breeding your babies, please. please dont! Leave this to the experts!! Too many things can go wrong...just as they did. I feel so fortunate we have four healty babies and a momma to nurse them. I will encourage everyone and anyone to NEVER breed!

ps. My vet still hasnt called me back...arrrgggg. That is sooo frustrating too, becaue I just talked with him and he knew it was most likely going to be this weekend. I dont know if he had answered the first time though, that things would have been different. It all happened so fast. I feel like maybe I failed, but at the same time, had I not been with the mama, I dont think her owner would have known what to do at all.

Breeding is very difficult. And as one becomes more experienced, a breeder gets more reluctant to breed because of those possible emergencies that may affect the dam and the pups.

This breed can bring you to your knees.....breeding is not for the faint at heart.

So far, they are all nursing and have full tummys. She is being a very good mother. Im more concerned for her at this point vs the pups because the pups are doing so well. I just poured some goatmilk/water/kayro over some food and she ate it all. The "pudding" is still setting in the fridge..I wish I would have asked you what flavor of geletin was best! Too late now!

Oh, I just caught up some on your thread and the loss of that little girl is terrible - the reason I can't raise puppies - could not take it - any of it. Thank the Lord for the pro's. Thank goodness the mommie dog made it and her other pups are well. I sure hope the mommie dog can go to a real home! That would be spectacular for her. She's a little heroine - could be somebody's best friend.

Sorry that the little girl didn't make it. Like Mardelin said the poor little one was not meant to be. Glad the rest of the litter is doing well. The pictures are adorable, you did a great job with everyone.

Uh oh...is it ok if it is flavored? I did read the package and it doesn't contain xylotin (may have misspelled that one).... But I haven't given her any yet, so I can re-make it....

Thank you. My daughter was heartbroken we lost the one. She was born with gastreoschesis (intestines on the outside of her body)...she told me the baby was just like her.... And would not stop praying for the baby. Made it that much worse when she didn't make it....

Aww- I am so sorry to hear that- I can imagine that is really rough on her. Is she the same daughter that you are going to keep one of the little girls for? If so hopefully that will cheer her up- if she has a lot of responsibility for the pup it will hopefully take most of her attention.

Yes, it is the same daughter (my only). I think she just felt a bond with her! But she is still very excited about one of the other 2 girls!
She actually just joined YT to start reading! Lol

I'm so glad your baby is ok.... That was scary!
