Never.....I've thrown the damn thermometer out the door. I watch their eyes...More often than not my girls will eat up to the last minute, the only indication I get that they're just about ready or in the first stages is the spacey look they get in their eyes....they stare at walls, etc....

Just a quick update....nothing new to report!! LOL! We are on day 59...She looks so uncomfortable, poor baby! She is still perky and playing though, so I dont think today is the day! Im beginning to feel a tad nervous....just because I pray everything goes smoothly. Also, Bevo is scheduled for his neuter next week. New mom, new pups and a tender Bevo...its gonna be a fun week!:) Thanks goodness I took off work to be a super mom!! ha ha!

Be glad you have nothing to report.....I prefer them to stay a bit longer...gives them more of a chance to cook.

Well, she has done nothing today but lay around and either stare off into space or sleep. I mean nothing else! Her temp has been in the low 98's all day. She's not contracting or "nesting" but I'm sure the time is drawing near, at least in the next 2 days. I think I am way more nervous and cautious than I would be if I hadn't discovered YT. Please pray for a safe delivery.

Praying for a safe delivery! One thing I've learned from Yorkietalk is the more experienced the breeder, the more nervous they are during a whelp. After a while, you learn all the things that can go wrong. I think many first time breeders get lucky and wonder what all the fuss is about.

We have 3 girls and 1 boy.... Hoping she is through since the sono only showed 3. We may lose 1 little girl.... It looked like a small portion of her intestine may have protruded during delivery. Please say a prayer for her. She is wiggling, crying, and nursing, but I know if that was intestine, we will lose her. She was the smallest at 3 oz. The other are 4, 4.5, and 5 oz. We were almost out the door to the vet... I'll explain more later.

If you get her to the vet now, she can be saved.

Just had puppy #5.... boy 4 oz.... The mamas owner is on her wayto the vet with the baby

Hope she is okay. Sounds like otherwise you are doing okay am
And momma is doing okay you giving her a little food to keep her energy up. My vet always gave me some canned food for during labor. She would eat a little not a lot but it seemed to help her. Good luck

We r being sent 2 another vet 30miles away I am now taking her drivin 90mph. My daughter is typing this for me. Mom and other babies r doing great. I gave mom some whelping pudding before I left and she drank it all. Keep u posted....

Great good luck. It is probley a little stressful to her. Being that she has not been in a car much and puppies on top of it so keeping something in her should help. As long as she does not decide to throw it up. Your doing a great job and this little momma is darn lucky to have you. Why is the vet sending you to another vet? Hoping this is just because of the one puppy that needs help.

At this point, keep your focus on the task at hand. You can update when all is over.......

I agree Sounds like all is well except for the one little girl. And she is doing what she can for her. It's a lot of stress for dog and her.

Just left the vet, and the babbys intestines were torn. She sewed them back together and put them back inside and sewed her tummy closed. Her chances aren't good.I'm giving her nutrical and headed to pick up a beef liver. But, she is fading.
