If you had to leave Stewie w/someone while you were in say, China, for a month, and it wasn't a relative of yours, would you be okay if upon your return you found out that they let a vet perform elective surgery on him at a low cost vet clinic without consulting you? |

I do respect your opinion, I just completely disagree. Why am I against neutering my companion animal? Well, the basic answer is pretty simple; I don't want to be neutered myself. With this subject, comparing animals to humans is ridiculous. What dog has ever decided they didn't want to have puppies? Or how many? That they couldn't afford one right now? He may not want to be neutered but I'm sure he doesn't have 40 children either. He chooses some form of birth control. To me the idea of just being careful is laughable. It might work for some but millions??? Ridiculous to compare the two. "the loss of my sex and what I was created by God and Nature to be." If you're going to compare the two, ask people who have had tubal ligation, their uterus removed or a vasectomy if they still consider themselves to be what God and Nature created. In Wolves spayed females scent changes and they may need to be separated from their pack or harassed to death by pack members. Obviously, different for dogs. Unless you know of a spayed dog that was harassed to death by it's pack. I could go on but this is really my point... to have intact animals and prevent them from mating requires a good deal more responsibility that most people possess... which is one reason why neutering is so popular. So tell me how convincing people not to neuter isn't going to increase the pet population drastically? Are you comfortable with adding even one more animal to the population? One more that has to be killed? |
doesn't have her spayed but that she is a responsible owner and does what is in the dog's best interests rather than her own. And you wonder why people get upset with you? This thread isn't about you but surely you can see why it turns that way. [QUOTE=SoCalyorkiLvr] Quote:

Ctsweety, I'm sorry your thread got so off topic. I'm done, I'm sure this will come up over and over and over but I'll save anything else for then. |
Okay, I wasn't completely informed when I wrote that last post. One more. Kim, I just looked at the website. I was making a joke when I mentioned Bob Barker but for that person to criticize anyone...I'm not going to call anyone names but are you kidding me?!! |
Oh boy. KIM ....you wonder why people get involved in debates with you ? Why not try to state your opinions and stop making every thread a PODIUM -you keep posting the same things over and over and it always ends up about YOU. This thread is about a person who needs help ...NOT your views on breeding tinies - Expensive yorkies, vaccinating, spaying/neutering, tail docking, the AKC, and who knows what else you keep posting about for instance - you said this: I offered my suggestions: 1) Help educate her with books, printed relevant threads from here and 2) refer her to a theriogenologist for an evaluation of Princess as a possible breeding female Kim....most people cant even SAY theriogenologist let alone know what it is and go find one - You have good advise sometimes - why not stick with the subject ? |
Kim.....I didn't mean to sound harsh - but these threads always go soooo off track and end up about everything BUT what the person asked in the first place....I actually stop reading when I keep seeing the long posts about everything BUT what the question was.... I know you have strong views and MANY of them are a bit out of the normal and I can appreciate that ...but honestly - some threads aren't asking for it... by the time we get thru reading - we forget what the original question was because you take over and it turns into another long dragged out thread about your views on every little thing..... |

I KNOW they are - I meant the average joe in the world who thinks nothing of breeding dogs or who don't take precautions against accidental pregnancy...there are far too many people out there who don't even go to the VET unless something happens let alone a theriogenologist...these are who I meant.... and I think you can tell that by my post. I give the members of this site and others LOTS of credit   - I wish there were more people in the world like the people I've met on forums - so please.... let's not change my words into something I didnt say OK ? |
Just in case the original post was forgotton since this got so off track - here it is & who I was referring to....ctsweety is talking about a breeder who unfortunately the world has too many of - the kind that DO NOT research and think nothing of just having puppies....just because they can. Quote:

Okay Villette.....do you agree with Stewie'sMom's advice to this foster parent that she should take the dog to a spay clinic and have her spayed without the owner's permission? |
Trying to get back on track... You need to purchase books and tell her about YT. Try to get her educated without sounding like you're talking down to her. With such obvious faults, she really doesn't need to be bred. You can hope for the best, but unfortunatley, the ultimate decision is the owners. You agreed to take in her bitch while she was away and that's very kind of you but without a life threatening illness (which means a trip to the vet), your job is to feed her, house her and love her till her owner gets back. Nothing more. Taking her in meant taking responsibilites of the hassles of a bitch in heat. Best of luck to you! |
