Lying??? Of course not...I am simply saying what I already pointed out which was that we have not heard ALL of the facts, and we certainly have not heard the owner's point of view which I feel is very important to this issue.

You are making the assumption that the owner has not educated herself about breeding. How do you know that? Have YOU talked to her? Even the foster care provider didn't say that.

okay this is your post...so don't make it seem like i am crazy for thinking that you are implying that she is lying. also let me add, if your not implying that she is lying, then you sure are implying that her intentions to fix the dog are not the intentions she has stated on this thread.

My point was that I wouldn't use the word "lying"...a bit too harsh in my opinion. :(

Okay...you and she both are still making the assumption that the owner will not educate herself and do the necessary research and that is grounds to allow her, the 20 day foster parent, to take the dog to a low cost spay clinic (where they do not do pre surgical bloodwork and provide pain meds to save costs) and have the poor thing spayed.

Unconscionable advice in my humble opinion. But then, I am probably all wet here..... :(

She is trying to do the right thing by the dog and asking for our help.

I offered my suggestions:
1) Help educate her with books, printed relevant threads from here and
2) refer her to a theriogenologist for an evaluation of Princess as a possible breeding female.

oh and you advising people "not to spay thier dogs" or "get shots" and "breeding tinies is okay" is conscionable advise? atleast my advise is to help the dog, and to prevent a bad situation where the dog suffers because it's owner couldn't educate themselves first! your one to talk about unconscionable advise kim.

What's with all the :( faces? Anyway, I still stand by what I said. Low-cost spay/neuter clinics do not hire people off the street - they do bloodwork and they also give FREE pain meds FYI. I don\'t understand how this thread has twisted and turned what I said into a legal battle and what GOD would do and what is morally right or wrong. WHO CARES? This is about one specific case where this dog obviously does not need to be bred. I PERSONALLY would spay the poor dog.

All of my opinions are backed by sound and reliable reasoning and sources and no, is not unconscionable. If you would take the time to research why I feel the way I do about over vaccinating and unnecessary neutering you would not say such things.

And please quit saying that I think it is okay to breed tinies. All I have ever said is that I have never seen any imperical data or studies to suggest that it is any more dangerous to breed a 3 lb dog than it is to breed a five lb one.

I personally don\'t think it is a good thing to breed ANY female yorkie and no female yorkie of mine will ever be bred, but I accept the decision of those who choose to breed responsibly knowing all of the risks and consequences, etc. If those people did not exist we would have our beloved yorkie babies.

I am continuing to research and ask the reproductive specailists I find about their opinion on breeding the smaller yorkies.
