You don't need to be a breeder to have knowledge on what warnings to look out for as a BUYER. It is the BUYER'S responsibility to buy from a reputable breeder. Just because we don't breed, doesn't mean we have to be uneducated morons who don't know what to look for in a seller. Caveat Emptor, means buyer beware, not breeder beware.

I find your attitude to be quite insulting. Implying that the people here don't know what they are talking about because they don't breed. You talk about judging others and you were full of judgment yourself.

We make judgments every single day Everything from what shall I wear today to whether or not to have that pizza rather than a salad for dinner. If you didn't make judgments, you wouldn't be able to function. Laws are judgments. Your choice of friends and acquaintances are judgments. You either agree with something or you don't.

So, I'll base my decision on whether or not to utilize a breeder based on their actions. A HUGE hallmark of a breeder and their ethics is what they do when there is a problem. A breeder who doesn't stand behind their pups without question is one I would never, ever recommend. One who is encouraging her buyers to join a FB site specifically targeting another website is one who's ethics I would question. One who gets her buddies to inundate a website with people on her behalf leaves a lot to be desired, IMO.

A breeder who sells to a puppy broker leaves a LOT to be desired, IMO. A breeder or broker who sends an email to a buyer threatening to put down their dogs at the advice of a vet to avoid having to deal with activists is, IMO, either lying or a few bricks short of a full load. There really is no distinction between a bad breeder, a puppy pimp (aka puppy broker) and a puppy mill who cranks out pups to sell in pet stores. Their bottom line is the almighty dollar.


Yep, that's a judgment. It's one I can live with without any reservations.
