I am confused? On May 30th of this year you said she was only 9 months: Quote:
Wouldn't that make her 11.5 to 12 months old currently? 2.4 lbs is awfully small, I'm sure you're rolling your eyes at the computer screen right now and ignoring what everyone is saying, but seriously you could have lost your little girl very easily. 2.4 lbs is really too small EVEN for a pet, let alone a breeding female. I also have a spayed 3 lber and she is so fragile and just tiny overall. I would have never considered breeding her, I love her too much to risk losing her over a couple of puppies. It was not worth it to me. :( Also if she is that upset about being a mother she is better off being spayed anyways. There's a good chance she will be the same way if you bred her again, and next time she may need a c-section and you will be out even more money for vet bills and probably lose one or more pups as well. I finally bred one of my 5 lb girls on her 2nd heat at 2 years old this spring. She had one surviving pup and she was scared to death of him at first and I finally got her to calm down enough to let him nurse, and she cleaned him and went to sleep. I was laying on the couch beside her and I closed my eyes for a few minutes. I was startled awake by her shaking him in her mouth. I quickly got him out and worked on him, but it was too late. It wasn't her fault, it was mine. As soon as mom's milk dried up I had her spayed. She is now in a pet home and doing absolutely wonderful. I did not want to put her through that experience again. Some females, even those who are the right age and size, are just not cut out to be mothers. I hope you will really think about all this and not just ignore what is being said. Please listen to your little girl and look at how much stress she is under. Is it worth it for her to have to go through it again? |
OP you should have educated yourself prior to breeding. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-answered.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...t-breeder.html |

Well now we know, all the humping is because the girl was in heat. |

I knew by looking at the picture that lil mommy was just a puppy, bred her at 9 mos on her first heat:eek: and now has puppies and she isn't even a year old...you can tell by the picture she is scared and wants nothing to do with the pups...sad very sad:( |
That poor little girl, I can't understand putting her through this. She is just to little. Why? |

OP, how is your girl and the puppies doing today? I hope they are all well. |
Your Abby was born 9-27-09, so she was bred on her first heat while still a PUPPY her self? :(:(:(:(:(:( Heartbreaking that people do this to these tiny babies! Would you let your daughter get pregnant at 13? Sheesh And she was only 2.4 lbs  Sorry I cannot contain my anger and hurt for this precious little girl who was FORCED to have babies that she had no choice. :(:( Stopping now before I say more  |
First off, I have read all your thoughts and opinions. I could explain many things but... I wont waste my time in doing so since it is very apparent they wont matter. Abby and the pups are doing very well. Stopped by the vet for a check up on all and Abby weighted in at 4.7 pounds (Nurse gave me wrong weight on her yesterday.....see one of those things i could explain) Baby boy 1 weighed in at 4.2 ounces Baby boys 2 weighed in at 3.5 ounces and baby girl at 5 ounces. Mom is on the diet i "RESEARCHED" on her Offer during and immediately after whelp, when all has settled down: 1. Can of Goats Milk 2. Equal Parts of Distilled Water 3. Egg Yolk well beaten 4. 1 Tablespoon of Light Karo Syrup. and she has been since we discovered she was PG. (AGAIN ONE OF THOSE THINGS I COULD EXPLAIN) just for my benefit of not seeming like a person whom doesnt care, didnt research etc.. we did, this was 2000000% unplanned. and yes we took many precautions, other than removing Bailey from the house. |
Here's an idea. Get her spayed. That poor thing, this thread is absolutely heartbreaking. How anyone can think breeding a 2.4 pounder is beyond me! OP I hope you are reading, I see you are online now. Do you realize how extremely lucky your baby was that she survived? |

This situation is beyond sad, and I'll say it again "ANIMAL CRUELTY". Intentionally breeding a tiny before her first BD. It appears that selfish desires came above anything else. |
I have posted and for what ever reason it said Mod must approve.... but until it post.... |
i'm still in shock i had a lil one she was 2 pounds she was 11 years old when she passed and i still can't see anyone breeding one that lil heck my vet would not even spay her and he would have killed me if she had ever had babies i have went back again & again and looked at her pictures and still in SHOCK |

How could you????? Why would you?? Does it make you feel good that a world of yorkie lovers are more worried than you about your little girl??? If she were a human, you would be arrested for child abuse allowing a pregnancy to begin in a mere child.....you should be ashamed:( |
wow... you guys. I wish the mod would aprrove my post! 1. she was not bred on freaking purpose! I did NOT want her bred until she was at least 2-3 years old. 2. Everyone went to vet today and i was informed the nurse wrote down and gave me the wrong weight on abby. she is almost 5 pounds 3. mom IS on a diet that I RESEARCHED HERE 4 Abby has been going to the vet very regularly since we discovered her PG 5. We DID take all procautions for her heat other than kick Bailey out of the house... again THIS WAS NOT PLANNED!! Thanks for asking... Puppies are doing Awesome. vet says they are gaining great weight and was very happy to see the mixure diet that I have her on. anyways, I am truly sorry i posted here. Be protective is great... being like this is simply shameful. Had i NOT been concerned had I NOT been worried had I NOT given a Sh*t I would not already have a HUGE vet bill, have the vets home number, spent more time at the vets in the last 2 months than most do in 3 years.... but nothing I say is going to make any of you understand nor change your thoughts... it is what it is... we had unplanned pupps, and did the BEST we could with the Situation. |
