Reputable breeder switches dog?

The breeder picture looks to be around 12 to 14 weeks of age. Your pictures look around 5 months old. Alot can change in that amount of time. Your puppy looks nice from what I can see from the pictures.

I couldnt really tell much of a difference. To me--it looks like the same dog. But the pics arent big enuff side-by-side...opening separately, i couldnt find any difference probably cuz in one photo the fur is tied back. The shots are not exactly the same so hard to get a good look and give an objective opinion.

Even if both are different dogs--both are beautiful. Is the dog the size you expected?

Here is what I noticed. The shape of the nose seems different in the puppy vs. the 5 month old. Of course as the puppy grows, so would the nose, however, the shape seems different to me as does the amount of space between the bottom of the nose and the lip.
Did she send you other pictures from the time you chose your pup to the time you received her?
I also question a vet signing off on your pup that she was 12 weeks old. Why we he do that when you can see it is clearly an older pup.?.
Are you comfortable saying who your breeder is or where your pup came from?

That is odd that the vet paperwork is not adding up, but then again I had a litter that was born on the first (01) and the vet office staff had put in tenth (10). Did they send you photos of the pup in a stance (standing) position.
And there is a difference from whether they show or actually have their own champions and not using photos of the parents on their site without stating that these are the parents and not their champions. I have looked at some sites where they were using photos of the parents in show positions and never stated that these dogs were are owned by others.

Do they themself have champions of their own?

Typical show prospects pups most often are sold at around 6 months to 1year from people that have their own champions and have a strict contract that you need to finish this pup before breeding with a co-ownership. They will check out your references. And the pup should have had its health testings/screenings.
Now a days show prospects are harder to come by by top breeder exhibitors and they must know the buyer very well.

I don't think that your puppy looks "darker" in the face than the first puppy, but it does look like it has different ears. However, that could be because your puppy is older now and the ears haven't been shaved.

To be honest i am staring at the 3 pictures. puppy in the first pic is sure younger and the other 2 pics show older... someone else mentioned it already . For me it can sure be the exact same dog .... puppies change a lot when they are growing.

Vet skiping is a big red flag. Sadly, you didn't know this before you bought the dog.

I have to ask...was there no contract involved? Most reputable breeders will take a pup back, especially if they are being sold with breeding rights. $3,500 is an unbelievable amount to pay. I sure hope you can get this situation worked out.

Does not seem like everything is on the up and up. Have you not received pics of your puppy as she has grown? 12 weeks to 5 months is a big change for a pup and it is quite hard to tell differences IMO.

Red flags are going up for multiple reasons for me.
Vet hoping is a big one.
Selling a show prospect without meeting you in person. And how about a contract to say prior to breeding must be championed out and all offspring of this dog must be spayed or neutered unless you keep them?
Shipping a show dog as cargo? I have heard of the lady that flys with them but not cargo!
And $3500.00 for this dog? What notables are in the first 1-2 generations? I hope some big ones are there!!

I personally would do alot of research on here. Chat with some of the exhibitors about this person in a PM about this persons reputation. May be on the up and up but something sounds a little off from the little bit of info we have.

Good suggestions. The earset and size is different on the pics, but comparing 10wks prox to 5mths prox is hard if not impossible

This may sound a little snarky but if I were that reputable breeder and I saw that you were that unhappy and did not trust me, and then go posting pictures and saying you dont think the dog is the same one on an open forum, I would get the puppy back from you. The reason I am saying this is not to hurt your feelings, but usually when buying a show prospect from a reputable breeder you at least need to trust the breeder. In this case, maybe the reputable breeder is not so reputable. Dont know. Dont have all the info, so its hard to say. Hope you get this resolved though.

I put the 3 pics in a row with the 10 week pic in the middle. To me, it looks like the same dog. It's hard to tell for sure of course, but if you were to look at pictures of Rhett at 10 weeks and now at 6 months, you would swear it wasn't the same boy- his face has gotten much darker.

It could very well be the same dog. It is very hard to tell a 10 week old from a 5 month old - they do change a lot. This is way show breeders hold on to their dogs so long. They will continue to change a lot too from 5 months to 1 year and even 2 years.
