The bad part of all this, is that I do think it will be even harder for new breeders to earn the trust of ethical breeders and it may even be harder for them to acquire suitable breeding stock so that they can improve their lines.

| ![]() The Parti's just like the Biewers (IMO) are not at the point in their developement that they can be bred strictly Parti to Parti.. as mentioned earlier.. we still have a ways to go on many things to get the Parti's to the point that they need to be. We will need to do this by bringing them back to spectacualar quality yorkies that posses the characteristics we need, going out to shows, being critiqued by "professionals", and doing it again.. just as you do in every breeding program. Eventually, once the lines are broad enough, there maybe no need to breed back.. we are not there yet. Mostly, in my mind.. because of health reasons. I have my own program deversified enough now that I am starting to feel more confident in that area.. that was step one.. now we can START to look at the rest of the puzzle. Diana ![]()

The dogs I have seen in the ring for the last 30 years have, for the most part, been nice dogs. Some not so nice were put in the ring by novices, one of them was even mine, the first dog I ever attempted to show. It didnt take me a long time to figure out this dog just wasnt going to make the cut. But,(that word again) even he was better quality than 90% of the pictures I saw on the parti web-sites. I am glad you seem to think you have a great parti dog that can beat the pants off your standard dog. I also think its peculiar that most of the parti breeders slam the YTCA, breeder/exhibitors and like minded breeders, say we cheat and lie and the judges dont know how to judge, and dog shows are a crock, but then crave a champion sired dog or want to breed to champions. Its almost like you want to improve and get better on the shirt tails of the breeders you seem to despise.

![]() My point is strictly if the parent club for the akc yorkshire terriers are the ones who set the standard THEY ALL NEED TO ABIDE BY IT! They all need to do the proper health testing on their breeding stock! I have seen it all in the time I was showing. I could personally write a best seller, lol!

Do you show your dogs? You must have many champions to breed your partis too. ![]() My post wasnt aiming at just you. I was just saying that from what I have seen on most of the parti breeder web-sites, the quality, or lack there of, is alarming. And I am not talking about color, conformation is the issue.

Yep..time to quit going in circles on a message board with those who will not even entertain the idea of the parti being granted a variety class. It gets us nothing but headaches. The parti population and it's carriers have exploded in the last few years...and this is just the tip of the iceberg. It's too late to stop it, but certainly not too late to work with the parti breeders to help control how it is bred in the future. As proven in other breeds with the parti gene...both colors can be bred separate (for the most part) once the parti is where it needs to be to sustain itself.

Champions in a pedigree are not the most important to my program. I have stated just because a yorkie is a champion does not make it worthy of being bred and producing healthy quality off springs. Yes I own one parti yorkie, which does not make me a breeder of parti colored yorkies. But what few parti breeders I consider as reputable are the ones going beyond to do everything right by their dogs and what they believe in. We all have a right to pursue our dreams.

Yes we believe the day will come whn there is enough interest in the parti, among the YTCA members, that the will give them a category of their own. You believe they will not. time will tell. That is an issue that it does not pay to argue because no one knows. We have goals of getting the partis to meet the standard in every way except for color. so our partis can be shown with pride.

These are members of your groups. The ones that abide by your groups code of ethics and bylaws. Im afraid these breeders wont live long enough to see the improvement they desire and need to even set foot in a show ring. Maybe your parti clubs should not allow every parti breeder to be part of the club. Maybe the parti clubs should be a little more strict like the YTCA about letting members join. Just saying.....
