| Tinks terrible time Hi all Thanks for all the help and advice you have all given me over the past 2 years. Well we have now finished breeding. Tink has had a terrible time . she started panting heavily on wed night about 10pm nothing came and about 3 pm thursday she started to deliver she had 4 babies 2 boys an 2 girls. The first was breach the second was normal and the 3rd and 4th were breach. Then we thought she had finished well fri morning she started to push again and it was another baby, this one she could'nt deliver so rushed her to the vet where she had a c-cection and was also spayed. We are now helping her raise her babies by giving the puppies via a bottle. It has really put us off breeding ever again. But once again thanks for all your help. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm sorry that the breeding went so badly and mom is ok - it could easily been worse. good for you telling people it isn't easy and all sorts of unforseen things can happen. Losing puppies is bad enough but losing the mom is even harder - you were very lucky and I hope people read this and think twice about putting their females at risk. Many breeds go well but when they don't - it's heartbreaking and painful for the moms Good luck with the puppies...I hope they make it with your help and you did the right thing spaying her |

| Yes, that will do it for many people...sorry. If I may offer an opinion to prevent this situation... After you THINK she is done, have a vet check, an injection of oxyie to clear her out and push any remaining pups out...then you know for a fact she is empty and ready to care for her litter...if is risky to guess when they are done...a sonogram/xray before whelping can tell you the number, that way you know what to expect. Best wishes... |

| Im sorry Tink had such a bad experience. I have never bred dogs but I had a cat that had kittens and she lost every one but one. And there were problems with the one that survived. That was enough for me. Ill leave the breeding to the experienced breeders. They can handle crisis.
