I agree with what everyone said and also want to add, DON'T BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM THAT STORE EITHER! No beds, toys, food, anything. Anything you buy from them supports them and in turn supports puppymills and brokers.

Reputable breeders breed for the betterment of the breed and would NEVER mix breeds to make a designer dog. EVER!

Anyone that is selling puppies in a strip mall is getting their supply from a mill.

Of course YHR is a GREAT choice~~check out my siggy

You are not going to find a lot of Yorkie puppies in rescue. Fill out an application on the YHR site if you are interested in adopting.

You can also look at YTCA for a list of good breeders. Make sure you do your homework. Good luck in your search

Thank you. I've already found 2 people in the area via networking who may have something available to me. I already have one "designer dog", so I'll form my own opinion on that. However, I will NOT go to that place to get another.

Both my boys are Yorkie/Maltese mixes but they are both rescues. Doodlebug was a puppy when we adopted him and Bogey was around a year old. They are in my avatar.

Yes, good advice!
There is a chain of pet stores near us that sell a food we were interested in, but I won't buy ANYTHING from them because they sell puppies!

I have decided to sign up with Yorkie Haven Rescue and devote the next few months to finding a rescue.

I'm seeking a female baby - a little girl for my Coopy dog.

Good luck finding your new addition! Sounds like you are a responsible and consciencious owner who not only cares about a new addition but supporting an ethical breeder or rescue! The ladies at yorkie haven rescue are angels. They are very knowledgeable and will definitely educate you fast in what to not buy!
