Thanks guys again for all the help. At the moment her temp is back up to 99.3 and shes acting pretty normal. Her belly feels a little hard though, is this an indication of anything? |

A watched pot never boils...You maybe stressing her out, and can hold back the labor. Keep a watchful eye on her but, let her relax. I usually keep my girls in their whelping area, away from the traffic of the house (in my bedroom) and check on them every 1/2 hour. |
Just an update: I woke up to check on Molly tonight and found her grooming EXCESSIVELY, digging in her blankets, laying spread out like a sausage, and sometimes forgetting that I was there... no panting yet but its time to sleep in the room next door with the door open so I can hear her - looks like tonight is puppy night! |
looks like you are going to have a long night.. good luck and I hope she has a fast and safe whelp |
Well no puppies, she settled down after that. I called the vet and now I'm REALLY confused. They told me that normal gestation is 68 days which I know is wrong? They did say not to worry because of the nine day breeding span and that she is probably not due yet, but what are they talking about with this 68 days? |

OK called another vet who actually KNOWS a dog's gestation date, (not sure what the heck the others were talking about). They said not to be concerned because its possible she didn't become pregnant early on in the breeding and only to be concerned if she starts acting abnormal. ...guess we play the waiting game another night or two. |
