| ![]() I guess there's no way to know for sure, but when I look at those old photos and drawings, it seems like I can tell which ones ears were cropped. I've been around a lot of Dobies with cropped ears, and it seems like the ear profile is different that any natural ear I've seen and some of the very early Yorkies have that (cropped) profile.

YT 500 Club Member | ![]() I guess its like sizes, no matter how carefull you are about choosing a dog for your bitch theres always something off standard cropping up. In the 5 litters I bred, 11 pups in total I always used girls within the breed standard and dogs who had been shown. But still in one litter, both boys, one pup was over standard in size and had semi-irrect ears yet his sire was from a long line of champions and was a winner himself. |

| ![]() Sometimes an ear or two might need tape for a few days...but I doubt many here have to tape for months like a Dobie or Dane breeder...I see nothing wrong with a week or so of taping if need be, doesn't mean the line is flawed with flop ears..all the tape and glue in the world will not make a genetically flopped ear stand. |
