Any April (Easter) litters........

Best of luck to LuckyLady and Precious today. You are so lucky to have a friend coming to give you support.
My Jazz is due on April 28. She is getting really huge, I really think she will have them early as the male tends to not breed until really late in the cycle. My own male would have bred her about 5 days before the male we used did.
So I really don't think I can go on dates with this pregnancy. We have our x-ray scheduled for April 20 but I told the vet that we would come next week instead if it looked like we were getting close.
I am really excited about this litter, Jazz is my first home-bred champion and this is her first litter.

I willing keep Halle and Jazz in my prayers also. You are so lucky to be close to Renee for help....I wish I lived in Nebraska! lol.....Yes when we get a male it would be Precious' hubby.....I know it would be difficult to monitoring him during her heat but atleast it only comes twice a year.

Thanks Linda. Keep the prayers and good wishes coming as I am thinking the pups will not arrive before you get home. Renee was here with me for a few hours this morning and we laid around watching Halle's belly move but not much else. But like Renee said in an earlier post..................SOON...............just not as soon as we had hoped.

Good luck to you Audrey. You've got some waiting still to do but gosh time does fly..........until you get to the end of course. The last few days, or even hours seem to go on and on. LOL How nice to be getting your first litter from your own home-bred champion; I'm sure the pups will be beautiful.

Thank you for your prayers. It is wonderful having my friend Renee right here for moral support and help when needed. I am hoping I can be with her also when Tayah's time comes later this month.
When I spoke of a stud in the house being nerve-wracking I was thinking mostly of the days/weeks of barking, whining, and insisting on wanting to be with the female morning, noon, and night. Been there, done that. LOL

Oh gosh, x-ray days ARE very exciting! We're ready to burst right along with you. Whatever you do, don't forget your camera; we'll be anxious to see pictures of how many are there.

I knew I took the day off from work for a reason. Okay, so nothing really happened until this evening, but it was still nice having the day off.

This morning, Halle's lack of appetite and 98.6 temp was reason enough to merit not going into work. Friday's are my half days & I really didn't expect anything to happen that soon, but hey.......any reason to stay home I jump at the chance. Renee came over and sat with me all morning, & went home at lunch time seeing that Halle wasn't quite ready yet.
Late this afternoon, I started seeing a change in Halle with her doing some wandering around in the bedrooms seemingly looking for something. So I decided it was time for she and I to set up camp in my room. She did some nesting and wandering, but at first it just seemed that she wanted out of the bedroom. After about an hour-hour and a half, I saw what I wondered if it was a contraction and soon after saw a very definite one. That's when I called Renee to come join me.

Halle had her first puppy at 9:05pm, a 5 1/4 ounce little boy. He was very eager to nurse practically right out of the womb and had no trouble latching on. His nursing seemingly kept the contractions coming and Halle had baby boy #2 just 30 minutes later. This little guy came out back feet first and they were NOT in the sack! Luckily the contractions kept coming and with some gentle tugs with each contraction, we got the rest of him out, and he too had a healthy appetite right away and also weighed 5 1/4 ounces. Halle took a little rest after that and as we were tending the second pups' cord, Halle decided she wanted to join her first born in the holding basket. This basket isn't very big, but Halle managed to curl up in it with her boys. Renee and I both got a big kick out of that sight! See for yourself in the pictures below. Puppy #3 arrived at 10:15pm and came out head first perfectly enclosed in the bubble like we've seen on the many whelping websites. Halle kept her streak of boys going as this one too was a little male; he was just a tad smaller weighing 5 ounces even. That's 4 for 4 males, counting her singleton son Oscar from her last litter.

Halle & her sons are getting acquainted and resting as I type this. Once again she did awesomely with the whelp and is being a wonderfully attentive mama. She's the best!!! For now, here are a few pics we took tonight. I hope to get more tomorrow or Sunday; some individual shots. When I do we will move to the nursery.

Thank you brendah, Yolanda, and Betty for the congratulations! I have been very blessed will successful whelps for each of the 3 litters I have had so far. They've also all be daytime or evening whelps too! I am a very lucky lady indeed. Having found Renee on YT last year and with her living so close has also been a blessing......for the both of us. In a couple more weeks, we'll be able to do this all over again..............only with Tayah this time!
