Well that was fun....The vet checked her progesterone levels..and she ovulated today..great right?? NOT
Moved on to collecting from him and no go...2 drops is what he produced and it was not enough to even add an extender to..however the little buggers are mobile and there is lots of em...
Will have to go back and try again tomorrow...250.00 today and no breeding.

This vet is the only one in the state that does this AI thing and is not cheap...
She did teach me how to collect..which is the easy part she says..its getting the sample warm and passed the cervix that is a "bugger"

OMG $250 and it didn't even work. I really need to learn to do this.

First progesterone test was 60.00 but not definative so did the 2nd one for 110.00 plus sperm check to check motility and viability 52.00 and then the 40.00 for the office visit... it all adds up fast!!

Well her progestrone tests tell me what I already knew...she is more than ready at 16.5. Time to breed, however lil Mr. Dusty has different thoughts...the vet was unable to collect from him today or yesterday...so 300 bucks wasted and no breeding with him. So frustrated...wish all the "thinking about breeding my ...." could see all the time...4 hours yesterday and 3 hours today just to attempt AI, not counting the behind the scenes stuff...and no breeding.
Sure have learned alot though.

I ended up going with my own stud male in my avatar. The vet stated that the AI was not working with Dusty

. Jasper is a great stud and will make beautiful babies, I just wanted a different line from the one he has and she has.
