| ![]() Talking to a vet will not help. Every knowledgable yorkie breeder knows you do not breed a female for the first time after 3 years of age. Their reproductive area does not have the flexibility it had prior to that age. With each advancing year you are putting your girl in harms way. Why chance it. I wouldn't.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() I'm no breeder - just a reader and interested in it - I'll share a story - NOT a yorkie story but still.. A neighbors dog was in her OWN yard (and I guess in heat) a much bigger male dog got into their yard and you know what happened. I was in my house and heard the most god-awful screaming.....it was the most horrible thing I've heard He was on her and I swear I thought she was being terribly hurt and busted my fence thru and ran into their yard.....I'll never forget the screams and it's my belief that not all dogs should or want to mate and like others said - at 4 years old it's not a good idea to force this..... having puppies isn't for everyone. There's already too many people breeding these days and even if you do this - there's no telling what the outcome will be..... ps...she could seriously hurt the smaller males too if she's that against it.....I hope you do the right thing and just let her be your pet and enjoy her life -
